5 Digits and an Invite

When I first started this blog, it was for our failed car trip cross country to Alaska last June. I created it so our families and some friends could watch our progress. When the trip idea was laughed at by my doctor, I decided to keep Graham Central Station going basically for our families to see pictures of the kids and read mundane details of our days. I added the blog stat counter in November and since then, Graham Central Station's numbers are in the 5 digits! I have two questions:

#1 Who are you people? Our family and friends circle isn't that big!
#2 Is our life really that interesting?

After a pep talk with my sister, Dayna, on Monday afternoon, I have decided to make GCS a private blog. (That Dayna...she always was like a second mother to me!) We all know that there are some crazy, disgusting people out there in the cyber-world who are capable of finding ways to do things to innocent people, especially children. With that in mind, I am making our blog private to protect Caroline and Roy Austin. So, if you are really interested in still reading about our family please contact me somehow and let me know your email address so I can officially welcome you to the Station. In a way, this is good. Now I can figure out who my lurkers are. Don't be embarrassed! Believe me, I lurk many blogs out there too. I know details about people's lives that I have never even met! See, now that's scary. I'm not a psychopath, but there could be one out there somewhere who knows that Texas died last week, or that we visited Montreat recently or that Caroline had an Ariel birthday cake. Creepy!

So, I'll wait for a few days to see if anyone wants to be invited. If I don't have your email address, get it to me somehow. And if you know someone who lurks and is embarrassed to contact me, let me know their address:) I know you're going to want to stay tuned for all the prom pictures that have yet to be submitted. In a few days, consider this Station private to invited guests only!

The turtle neck prom lady wants to be invited and I am sure horse girl does too. I love ya.

LOL! HPS, I knew you'd be happy. Like I said, Dayna has a way of persuading her little sis. She is always concerned about her baby sisters.

I need horse girl's address. I don't think I have it. HP, email it to me.

Donna, please include me and you know my email address! I agree - good decision to make this private. I have just been laughing about the Jessica McClintock brand - I have some old prom gowns and I think my going away wedding dress was that brand -big time into that one. If I can figure out how to scan some of the old pictures - I will send them.

Count me in, I think you have my address but it is tigsgrl@msn.com in case you don't. I completely agree with the privacy, when I started my blog, that was the only way Tig would let me do it. He gets really freaked out with having too much info on the net, can't say I blame him. By the way, my blog has been private from day 1 and i still have people on my location map that I have no clue who they are, don't know how they are getting in? Anyway, good plan......good plan and I'm loving the prom pics, by the way! I may just be able to get you a jr/sr pic of Dawn if you can't find one. I'll see what I can come up with, as long as she doesn't mind! :)

I am a blog lurker, too! Way to call us out...hahahaha! It is weird to not know who is reading about your life. And yes, you really are that interesting! I love reading your posts. YOu are so funny! I found your blog through Windsor's blog (we went to school together). I saw in one of your posts you went to LCA which is where a bunch of my cousins went to school and I have just kept reading since then. I have 3 munchkins and am a stay at home mom. My blog is public too but I don't have a map or know how to track how many people are looking at it, so now you have given me something to think about...ugh! :)

This is just horrible, infact it's ruined my day! I don't want to admit to you who I am but I LOVE looking at pictures of you! You have really grown up to be a pretty lady. Am glad you've grown out of your awkward phase and have such a nice family. Please add me creepyguyinforest@aol.com

I agree, Kristi...things in blog world are really unstable right now because of this announcement. Will it settle down...should we be nervous...will Denise be next? HELP!!!

I, for one, can't go private yet. I'm really trying to build up my fan base before I shut things down. My self esteem is determined by how many hits I get a day...and for this stay at home mom that is very important.

Ok so you caught me. I am an official blog lurker. I found you through my friend Amy. My husband and I went to LU and Rusty knew Dolly from traveling on Tribute. Also, I think we were all on the LU Europe trip in 1999. I have enjoyed reading your blog as I am a new mom and feel overwhelmed at times. Please add me jennifermumford@bellsouth.net.
