Winter Storm 2008

Last night the Queen City was hit by a massive winter storm. As luck would have it, I went to Harris Teeter yesterday, so don't worry about us. Obviously we are still alive. We have heat and we are not going to starve.

Considering Charlotte's lack of inclement weather, I am considering this a snow day, so today is a "stay-at-home-watch-TV-pajama-day" for the Grahams! I love snow days!!

My Bumbo Boy decided to wear this snowman number to celebrate the conditions outside.

Caroline in her favorite nightgown (it's pink) while she "takes care" of her brother.

It stinks to be the youngest. Go ahead, Caroline. Sit on his head. That's exactly what we do to babies.

Speaking of going to the grocery store: I went to get my ingredients for all of my sneaky dishes I'll be making this week. I spent a good hour steaming, pureeing and freezing vegetables yesterday afternoon.

The fruit of my labor. Butternut squash, spinach, lima beans, carrots, and don't panic. I'm not going to use breast milk in my dinners. The white stuff is none other than cauliflower. Today for lunch I am making tofu nuggets with spinach. I have to admit, the only tofu I've ever tried was a tofu dish at Pei Wei that Dolly ordered and Donna didn't likey. We'll see what today's lunch brings. Oh, and Dolly, Denise and Hannah...this next picture was taken JUST for you. I want to clear up any confusion that y'all might have:

Wherever you may be, I hope your day is as warm and cozy as ours!

Oh my gosh! Your little baby boy looks so grown up in that first picture! How cute!! I was thinking about getting that cookbook, but luckily, my daughter LOVES veggies and health food (unlike me).

I'm LOL at the last picture. Once again, I can picture you setting the timer and freezing while it's blinking orange.

Wow! You really love this new cookbook. I'm glad you cleared up the fact that you're not using breastmilk. I thought for sure that's what that was in the picture. Fewwwwuuuu!

I saw where Wilkes got 4 inches of snow, did Roy have to go up there today?

I have seriously been laughing out loud at the last picture for the past five minutes. Good one, Don Don...GOOD one! Your mean face kinda makes you look like a goth...OK, I'm gonna wet my pants.

Suzy, I'm LOLing at your last comment too b/c I can TOTALLY hear you saying it in my head. I don't know why it's tickling me so.

i LOVE that last picture:)

I look goth because I didn't wash my face last night (I know, sick). I stayed up and watched American Idol and I went to bed at 11:30 and was too tired. My eyes have mascara and eyeliner all smeared. Scary.

Suzy, Roy was in town today. He goes to Wilksboro tomorrow:)

That's funny Donna. You DO look Goth! I was thinking the same thing Hannie.

Donna's pic makes me laugh too. She is trying to be so serious.

Wow, am I late to this post or what! 10 comments already! Donna you are just the little multi tasker. It would been funny watching you try to get yourself all set up for your picture. Laughing!

As for the snow---whhhhaaaaa. It is HUMID here today, but we are predicted to have a high of 62 on Sunday! Burrrr!

again, yummy food! have you ever tried making cauliflower like "mashed potatoes?" that's one of peg and bob's little low carb tricks. i think they just boil them and then mash them or put them in the blender and then add a little cheese. another place that has a lot of good recipes for vegetable dishes is the hallelujah acres website (www.hacres.com)
