Our Thanksgiving

This past Thursday, we spent Thanksgiving in Montreat, NC with Roy's family. We started the day at our house, where we frantically got two kids fed and dressed, packed the family up for the day and night and then loaded my car in the hot humidity of Charlotte only to realize once we were ready to start the engine that we had no room for the Christmas tree we were going to bring back! So we unloaded the entire car (including two car seats) and reloaded it into Roy's truck and were then on our way. I have to admit I was a little irritable at this point, since I had on panty hose and heels, a long sleeved shirt, a suit, my hair was now flat and I was a little sweaty! But putting on the radio to Christmas music soon changed my mood!! We had a nice lunch with Roy's family (immediate and extended) and were able to introduce Roy Austin to many cousins, aunts, an uncle and a great-grandfather! The food was delicious this year and I helped myself to two plates, but I passed on the desserts:) It was a smaller crowd this year and it was a little quiet, but there were many kids running around to help with that. Caroline was in heaven because one of her second cousin's name is "Bell" and she thought she was so cool because she had the name of "THE one and only Belle" from Beauty and the Beast. She kept wanting to know where Bell was!
We went to Roy's parent's house in Boone that night and it was freezing COLD outside! The next day, there were snow flurries in the air for most of the afternoon, so that was nice to see. We did a little shopping at the outlets but didn't hit any good sales, got our Christmas tree and headed home to the Queen City around 8:00. I can't believe that the Christmas season has now officially begun! We are putting up our tree and decorating the house this weekend, so stay tuned for a post on that...

Our first Thanksgiving as a family of four!

The Kids Table

"Is that pumpkin pie over there?!"

Aunt Cissie and Caroline, who was a little on the timid side Thursday! Cissie gets married in a little over a month:)

Three generations of Graham men. Daddy Bill left before I could get a shot of four generations:(

I know you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving...and there's nothing like a little snow to start the Christmas season off right! The next few weeks are going to fly by. We're really looking forward to having you here for a little while. In the mean time, the pictures are great. I can't wait to see your Christmas tree and all your other decorations.

You look awesome, Donna. I'm glad you had a great Thanksgiving and a safe trip. Roy Austin looks adorable in his plaid outfit and Caroline in her smocked cornucopia. When are you going to Lburg?

I love that picture of Caroline wondering if there was Pumpkin Pie. Cute!!! You really look GREAT Donna. I think your bridesmaids dress for Cissie's wedding will be HUGE on you if you're not careful.

I'm glad you had a nice Thanksgiving too! can't wait to see your Christmas decorations.

Hannah, I am leaving for the 'Burg on Wed. morning and I cannont wait! There's no place like home at Christmastime. Plus, I get to see the annual LIVING CHRISTMAS TREE! I haven't seen that for about 3 years so I am excited.
