This picture is pretty dark, but here is the nursery from the door's view. The rocking chair in the left corner was Roy's when he was a little boy.

We added the stripes and the pictures. When Caroline had this room, I had her monogram painted above the crib, but that's a little too feminine for our boy!
...she used the chair as her inspiration for the background! I loved her idea! This chair and I have spent many, many hours together and we're getting ready to become reunited.
The cornice. The whole thing literally took about 1 hour to put together. Hanging it was a chore and I almost killed myself. I'm sure it was a funny sight to see a 9 month pregnant woman on a ladder hoisting up a huge piece of wooden board and trying to match up a hole to a screw! (I know, I know...I should have waited for Roy to get home tonight, but I wanted to see how it looked!)
Did I mention that Pier One Kids is going out of business?! I got both of these letters for 54 cents! The lady felt bad for me and gave me the "A" for free last week. I went back today to see if they had any "R"s and they had a huge stack. Nice accents, huh?
Roy Austin's coming home outfit and the site of the place where Roy will be changing LOTS of diapers. No excuses this time:)

It looks GREAT Donna!!! I love it! Especially the striped wall and chair. It looks like a very quite/peaceful place for sweet feddings and sleep for Roy Austin!
DONNA GRAHAM...AMAZING. It looks wonderful and it is remarkable how you took a couple of things that you already had and made them work uniquely in a masculine way. You are simply amazing. I love everything about it...especially the cornice and the paintings. Rena did an amazing job!
Looks great! My favorite is the curtains and especially the "G" monogram. Perfect!
WOW!!! It looks amazing, Donna! I love the colors you chose, they're so calming and clean. The art work turned out really well, too. It makes the room a unique space for Roy Austin. BTW can't believe your counter says 16 days, that's crazy!
SOOOO CUTE! It's so neat how everything flows so well together. I love the paintings!
Donna, we'll start calling you Martha Stewart, but in the good way! You really are very talented in many things! Now, you get to sit back and be pampered, right?
hahah! Thanks for the many compliments, girls! I tell you what, this blog thing is good for a girl's self esteem! Actually, Sommer, when I take Caroline to preschool on Friday, I am going to go get a pedicure, so I guess that's pampering, right?!
Everything looks beautiful Donna! I know you are so glad to have everything done. I'm impressed that you did the cornice - it looks great and I love the monogram!
Donna--Roy Austin's nursery is ADROABLE!!!! GREAT JOB...you're giving all us newlywed girls lots of great ideas for our future nurseries!
Donna, I'm here half way across the world admiring your nursery. You really did a great job and are an inspiration to so many including myself. You deserve to be pampered a little so enjoy that pedicure on Friday. ILY
It's beautiful! I can't believe you got the cornice put together so quickly. Are you for hire?
kristin...
if you're the monogrammer, are YOU for hire?!?
Donna...you are amazing. Will you come out to Washington and do my nursery? I thought I wanted green and brown...but I'm sure liking the yellow and green. GREAT JOB. Very impressed.
Kristy
By the way...Nate Berkus would be proud...he just had a whole episode on Oprah yesterday about taking what you have and changing just a bit which is what you've done. Great JOB
Kristy
I love the nursery. You and Roy have outdone yourselves. Can not wait to meet Roy Austin2.
Donna! The rooms looks so nice and inviting for little Roy Austin! The animal pictures are perfect -very babyish and cute! You should have waited for Roy to hang that board but I'm glad it worked out and you are okay! The room reminds me of the baby suite in Father of the Bride Part II - perfect!
Donna, I love it. Just a few more weeks and little Roy boy will be here. And it will be as if you have always had him.
Donna, you make a sista proud. Like Dolly said, here I am all the way over here in Asia admiring you and wishing I could see your face. (I don't think Dolly said that part, but I usually one-up her) Anyway, my sweet friend, I love you and can't wait to see pics of this little R.A. (not to ever be confused with Resident Advisor)
