Roy has been out on the 4-wheelers, doing guy stuff and having a blast. I have been relaxing (I've already read 2 books!). Yesterday I took Caroline to play on the beach with some children from the town. The beach here is not what you'd expect a beach would be. It was probably in the low 60's and the water was probably in the 40's-50's! All the children had on swimsuits!! I rolled Caroline's jeans up and she ended up playing in her diaper and shirt and her legs were red from the cold water and the diaper was soaked with COLD water. She had a great time, though, and loved playing with the big kids.
Today Roy and I went pike fishing. It was a freezing cold day and the water was very choppy. It was a bumpy ride to the pike hole, but we had a great time. I caught 5 pike and Roy caught 12. I was just happy to catch one! As you can see in the first picture, Roy doesn't mind touching his own fish...I, on the other hand, needed help showing off my prize fish (remember, it was freezing cold today, so that is why I look like an orange marshmallow):
I will leave you with a picture of Caroline loving life in Alaska. Nana bought her some Carhartt overalls. I had to add a feminine touch to the outfit (the cute chocolate brown bow). When you are in Alaska, you have to wear Carhartts, right?!. She loves to be outside and find pinecones and sticks! She is having a blast!

Hey Donna! I LOVE Caroline's Carharts...too cute. I'm glad Roy's there now. Looks like ya'll are having a good time. I hope you're still coming with us to the beach after that nice long vacation. You may need another vacation from your vacation! Just a thought.
I'm glad to hear that you are having a great time. I'm so glad you ended up being able to go. Caroline looks adorable as usual! See ya soon!
love ya!
Donna I am so happy for you. I am so glad that you made the spur of the moment decision to go up there. Watch out for those bumpy boat rides! Let's not have an baby in Alaska. As always GREAT pictures. It makes me feel like I am right there with you.....and yet.....I am so many hundreds of miles away. Let's see, I need to map quest it to see how far away I actually am. I will get back to you.........
......Oh well, no can do. I cannot get exact directions via Yahoo or Mapquest because Canada is in the way. Lets just say that you are a good 2 1/2 weeks away from me. Love you, Denny
Don Don, How special that you've been able to first, have some QT with the in-laws with just you and Caroline. How often does that happen? Second, spend a nice vacation w/ Roy and Caroline before the big addition. Ya'll are ending up to have an eventful summer. I'm proud of your wild hair! That's totally something I would do. When are you coming home? Love, Hannie
