Seeing the Bears

On Tuesday, we flew to the Kenai National Park (I think that's what it was called) to go see some bears. It was another cold, rainy day but it was a beautiful flight to the park. We walked about 1.5 miles to where the bears were catching the fish, but along the way it was very obvious that bears has just been where we were walking...there was bear poop everywhere! Seeing the bears in their natural surroundings was unreal...it was almost hard to believe! Caroline loved them and was not scared a bit--even when we saw two huge ones laying down on the way back to the plane!
Nana, Caroline and Gramps getting ready to go see the bears!

Just a bunch of bears waiting for their lunch! Once in a while a
salmon would jump upstream and they'd catch them and tear
them apart!

Caroline loved the bears and the seagulls that would fly overhead. She
kept saying "mine, mine, mine" (from Finding Nemo--we try to bring
some type of Nemo dialogue into our daily life).

The path on the way back to the plane. At one point there were
two huge bears just laying to the left of us in the bushes. Kind of scary!

Getting ready to hop on the plane to go home for dinner. It was a long day and
Caroline slept most of the way home:)
