I knew I should have knocked on wood. I was talking on the phone with my mother-in-law this afternoon and I was telling her how good Roy Austin has been lately. For the past few weeks, he been such a good, sweet boy...obedient, a joy to have around, pretty much no issues. Fast forward a few hours.
It was the crazy hour---you know, the one before dinner time when you have the meal in the oven, your husband's on his way home, the kids are running around the house laughing and screaming and you're trying to help your oldest child practice her piano, amidst the chaos. So, there I sat in the piano room helping Caroline when I looked over as Roy Austin came around the kitchen corner holding scissors. This isn't abnormal. He's proven to me that he can be trusted to use scissors with crafts and art work. He was headed up the stairs so I reminded him to hold the scissors pointed downward as he walked and he obeyed.
A few seconds later, he reappeared with the scissors--and my hair mousse. He quickly ran past me, headed toward the kitchen. I jumped up to follow him and a horrible thought came to my head. Scissors, hair mousse...SCISSORS....CHARLOTTE'S HAIR!!! I rounded the corner and saw my sweet 19-month-old (with pretty blonde hair) sitting very still in my computer chair as if she were sitting in a hair salon. What happened next is still a blur, but I think I asked (or screamed), "Did you cut Charlotte's hair???!!!!" I remember reaching for her bow on top of her head and pulling it up and it didn't stop...the hair came with it! To say I was mad is an understatement.
It could have been worse. The chunk was in the front of her head, but I can pull some from the left side to hide this. I think.
This shot of Charlotte just makes me laugh (doesn't her nose look huge??). See her forehead hair? Do you think it's bad to give babies Biotin? I'm kidding:).

That is so funny, Donna! Was he trying to glue it back on with the mousse?
His little mind was just spinning! At least he had a great thought process. Sorry Donna. It doesn't look too bad. It will be a funny story one day.
That is so funny.....Charlotte's first haircut!! I know you'll laugh someday about it. Just keep the hair to remind him about it when he gets older. That Roy Boy!!!
