How to Spend a HOT Day....

It's now officially summertime, and what better way to celebrate the 95 degree heat in hot, humid Charlotte, North Carolina than to load up three kids and head to an amusement park!

A child's paradise: having an amusement park all to yourself. Carowinds + Charlotte area schools still in session= a good time.

This little girl just sat and took everything in. She is an angel baby!!

Charlie Brown must have had his Old Spice on today. It was a scorcher! I felt bad for those people dressed up like the Peanuts gang.

Charlotte's first "roller coaster" was a slow moving helicopter on a track. Does she look like her daddy in this next picture, or what?!

When we accompanied the kids on the carousel, the ride worker asked me if it was Charlotte's first time on the carousel. The next thing I know, she was announcing on the loud speaker that there was a special rider on board today. "Everyone welcome Charlotte on her first carousel ride!". I laughed but felt kind of silly, too. We were sitting in one of those sleigh things on the carousel and all the moms looked at me and smiled. I think they thought I was some first time mom, taking my 8 month old on a carousel!!

Who wouldn't like to have a roller coaster all to themselves? Caroline is our child who loves roller coasters. She wants to ride the big ones so badly! She had to settle for this baby one, but she got to ride it alone three times in a row:

And there was no crowd-fighting to find seats for "Charlie Brown's Hoedown". We were front and center:

But then again, this was their audience for the 11:00 show:

And when they asked for some volunteers to come help sing a song about Grandma's feather bed, guess who raised her hand?

She said it was so embarrassing, but I think she liked it:)

Oh, and you know those "People of Wal-Mart" emails that have been around for a while? Well, with all of our visits to Carowinds this summer, I promise you that we will have a "People of Carowinds" blog post in the near future. I need to get my nerve up, but it will be done.

Good for you for getting that pass! Don't you love it when the parks are empty and you have it all to yourself?????

Queenie is SO cute! I love the picture of her on the ride. I could just pick her right out of the computer and squeeze her!

I agree with Denise! Good for you getting out in the hot heat with the kids. I bet they loved having all the rides to themselves. The pic of Caroline on the "roller coaster" all by herself makes me laugh. So funny!

Charlotte IS a cutie! Love her and love all your kiddos.
