Boone Weekend

I guess when I gave my kids the option to go to Carowinds yesterday morning or stay home and have a relaxing day and they picked the second option, that summed up our busy weekend! It started with our last soccer games early Saturday morning. We have enjoyed soccer, but I have to say that I have missed our lazy Saturday mornings!

Roy Austin and Team Blue Whales had their soccer party with their cookies, water, orange slices and muffins----fun party, huh?!

Daddy made the morning extra fun during Caroline's game by swinging him around:

Caroline played for a little bit before we had to leave early and head to Boone for a 2:00 wedding. We were rushing like crazy to get there in time!

It was a fun weekend in Boone, since Kristy and her two were there along with Cissie and her husband, Corey. Roy and I also were able to stay in the cabin that we lived in for the first month of our marriage. Love that place! Brings back SO many happy memories of our first days of marriage:)

Charlotte got to spend a little time with her new Graham cousin, Liam. This boy is adorable! So big and sweet. He and Charlotte are six months apart, but have the same size foot and wear the same diaper and clothes size!

Roy gave us girls a break one night and took the kids out for a pizza picnic and ended up making a little campfire for smores:

Corey decided to build a super-sized slip and slide over the weekend and everyone had fun playing and watching. We didn't bring bathing suits, but those soccer uniforms sure did come in handy! Caroline LOVED that slide:

RoyBoy went down two times before deciding that he did not like it. He looked at me and said (through his tears) "I don't like that! That's bad!!!"
Hannah didn't like it, either!

Here is Uncle Corey making a big splash:

I think RoyBoy enjoyed playing in the pond better:

We all got a little sun burned during the water fun and then had a little drama on the way home. Caroline had hurt her toe in VA last week. We had been to the doctor earlier in the week to extract some of the built up blood, and throughout the week, it would look better and then worse, and then better again. Well, I think with the playing in the pond and the toe getting hit and stubbed a few times over the weekend, by Sunday night it looked awful after one last stub. When I saw it, I almost gagged. We were getting out of the car for dinner and it was gushing blood and the toenail looked like it was definitely going to come off----all of it!! Once again, Uncle Dick came to our rescue! This sweet man is Roy's godfather and the man that gave Roy Austin his stitches last summer in Alaska. He took care of Caroline on Sunday night and told her the toenail fairy would come to see her if she put it under her pillow. Sure enough, she came! I didn't know there was a toenail fairy?! We had one excited girl on Monday morning:

And just for fun, here is how RoyBoy came downstairs last night ready to play outside.....khaki shorts with cars on them, an orange shirt turned backwards, cowboy boots, his Woody hat and his prized soccer medal:

We are leaving pretty soon to go to a ToyStory camp at our church and he is SO excited! Last year he wasn't old enough for camp but not this year:)

You sure did have a great weekend......I think the Graham house in Boone is the place to go!! Lots of good fun! Nice pictures, too. Juette especially liked the one of Corey coming down the slip 'n slide!! We have the privilege of having the Renalds with us for a few days until their air conditioning gets fixed. Hot, hot, hot.....everywhere!

Sure enjoyed having everyone.....missed the two boys that couldn't make it though. Everyone was tired at the end of the day but everyone enjoyed the slide but Roy and Hannah!!!! Not their favorite thing that day! Caroline seemed to enjoy it the most.....
