When we had Charlotte, we were blessed to have many meals brought to us by friends. One of our favorite meals was a delicious lasagna brought over by my friend Christy. I had to have the recipe, so she directed to me to this website, which has become my new favorite recipe finder--forget Paula Deen! The Pioneer Woman has so many yummy-sounding recipes on the site. She is hilarious and she writes in a way that will make you literally laugh out loud. Check out her site for some great recipes. She includes step by step instructions with pictures.
We had company for dinner two times last week and I made 3 of her recipes, including that delicious lasagna. I used to think my mom's was the best I'd ever had, but I'm rethinking that now...sorry , Mom! I still love your lasagna, though:) Click here for the recipe. And for dessert I made a pear crisp. It looked easy and I had some pears on hand. I'm glad I did because this may be my new favorite dessert recipe! Click here for that recipe. She has a whole section on holiday recipes, too, so go look when you get a chance.

Wow, I just took a look at her site, and the recipes do look sooo easy. I love the pictures she posts for each step. Thanks for the tip. I think I'll be using this web site a lot in the future.
I loved looking around her website and I agree. I love the way she writes. It's like how we would talk if we were standing around cooking. Thanks for forwarding this on.
So glad you love her as much as I do! It's great comfort food, but you're right, she definitely doesn't cook low fat. BTW, got your Christmas card.....adorable!
Donna, is that lasagna and pear recipe something you want to try out first before you serve it to company? We're having friends over next week and I think I'll try both these recipes but I'm afraid I should try it first. What do you think?
The pear crisp...YES! I'll give you pointers on the lasanga when I get home. I think the trick is to let it sit for a while before serving. I served it basically straight from the oven. It was still good, but very soupy!
I LOVE Pioneer Woman but haven't read it in awhile. Last year, I literally spent/wasted one whole night reading the story about how she met and fell in love with her husband. I forget what she calls the story but it's on her website. It's supposedly being made into a movie, but it was a great read.
Her recipes always sound so great so I'm sure it was all great. And I agree about the lasagna sitting. I make lasagna a lot and I always let it sit for at least 15 minutes...easier to serve and the flavor is better.
