So, I was looking for Barbies to buy Caroline and call me crazy, but I just don't like how sassy 2010 Barbie looks. I remembered that Mattel re-released my fave Barbie of all time: Peaches and Cream.

Remember this post? She's a little on the pricey side of anywhere from $42-60 and I just didn't want to spend that much on a Barbie. Well, today I was visiting my favorite little consignment shop and as I was checking out, I looked up and saw a Barbie box... from 1985... with none other than PEACHES AND CREAM inside!!! (BRAND NEW IN THE ORIGINAL BOX). I quickly asked the lady how much and she replied $7.99! And right next to her was the beautiful Dr. Barbie!! This is the one my dad let me pick out at Macy's in 1988 and I wrote about her here. She was $7.99, too. They were both sold instantly and they will be wrapped up and put under the tree for hopefully years of Barbie Soap Operas acted out by Caroline Graham:) I can't wait to show her how Dr. Barbie's outit can go from business to date-ready in no time!

That's GREAT that you found both those Barbie's brand new and for that price! Way to go Donna! I know Caroline will love them when she opens them on Christmas. Can't wait to see her face!
I'm laughing picturing Grayson playing with Barbies too.
What an incredible find!!! It must have been your lucky day. :)
Donna I already told you this once today, but I am so glad that you found that Barbie. When I think of you playing Barbie's I think of you with that Barbie. Side note: Why do we say "playing Barbie's?" That just sounds funny to me.
I'll bet your heart skipped a beat or two when you saw those Barbies, and the heard the price. I'm really glad for you. Can't wait to see how Caroline likes them. Like mother, like daughter. I love that you're a bargain shopper, too.....and all my daughters, for that matter. Keep it up.
Donna, you are A M A Z I N G, my friend! I checked to see if you had any recent pictures of your sweet Charlotte only to find that you've been blogging like crazy! I'm so proud of your commitment. When do you find the time? I want to keep mine up WAY better than I do, but never seem to have the time...or maybe I'm just not making it a priority. It's so great for being able to look back on like a journal of your life. Anyway, just wanted you to know that you are my hero! Mother of three and recording it all for your blog-way to go! Caroline is looking so grown up ...I totally remember that Peaches and Cream Barbie (I had one too...I thought the top to her dress was the fanciest/prettiest thing I'd ever seen! :)
Good deal! I wish we had a little girl in our family, all we have is boring boy toys all over the place. :)
OHHHH...I was flipping through the channels last night and saw you on an old Living Christmas Tree! your performance was riveting.:)
Donna you are so funny! Playing Barbie! That would have been torture to me...Isn't it funny how different children can be? Glad you found the ones you enjoyed so much. I hope Caroline enjoys them as much as you did!
Love you all...
Donna, that is CARAAAZY that you found that Barbie and it's brand new! Seriously, were you dying or what? Your heart was for sure skipping a beat! She is a pretty Barbie and I know Caroline is going to be in Barbie heaven when she sees it!
