WWU

Our weekend started on Thursday afternoon when Dolly and baby Michael arrived in Charlotte. Dolly came into town just for the big consignment sale that I go to twice a year. In order to attend the preview sale, a person has to volunteer, so on Thursday night we both did just that. It was so good to see Michael! He has grown so much and is the sweetest thing. He is such a calm baby and just sits back and takes everything in. Caroline LOVES him to death and Roy Austin even grew attached to the little guy. He even stopped his playing once to come give Michael a kiss all on his own! Here is the Bumbo Boy:

Friday was the big sale day. Dawn came into town around 2:45 just in time for us to hug hello, leave her with the kids and head on over to the sale!! Let me just say that Dolly was one excited girl. She made me laugh because that is the exact way I felt the first time I went. It was an exhilarating feeling. Here she is while waiting in line, pondering which direction she'll take when she enters the sale:

I found her a little while later with her finds and scouting out the next direction she would take:

She really did find some good stuff. For her point of view, check out her blog soon. She took pics of her loot. A big thank you to Auntie Dawnie for watching the children for us! When we got home, we all went out to PeiWei for some Chinese food and learned that Dawn HATES Chinese food. Who knew? Again, she was a sport.

Shoo! It's hard work taking care of kids! It wore her out.

Saturday got off to a great start. We had our whole day planned out around SouthPark Mall and then had a little setback. Roy noticed a hernia looking thing on Roy Austin's stomach that morning. We kind of didn't think much about it, but when I changed his diaper, it was really sticking out far and was really scary looking. So, I called the doctor's office and they told me to go straight to the Children's ER! Talk about scarring a mom and making her cry! Thank God my sisters were there. They took Caroline with them the entire day while I met Roy at the ER with our little guy. He was acting totally normal...totally Roy Austin. Here he is in the waiting room, climbing all over the furniture, but taking a second out of his active state to watch CNN:

He was so cute in his little hospital gown. I couldn't help but snap tons of pics on my phone camera:Don't be scarred, RoyBoy. He hated the hospital bracelet and tried his hardest to pull it off. All was fine until he bumped his head on the wall after jumping on the hospital bed:

Long story short, he suffers from Diastasis recti. Google it. I don't quite understand it all the way, but apparently this is normal in little boys and it "should" correct itself by age 5. It looks gross and scary though! I couldn't help but think on the drive to the ER that this was probably the first of many visits there with our little RoyBoy. Thank you to those that I called on the way there. I honestly could feel your prayers and by the time I got to the ER I was very calm and not worried at all.

Saturday night Dawn and Roy got the Wii Fit out and had some challenges. That Dawn is a competitive one! Here she is trying to master the ski jump game:

Sweet Caroline had to give it a try, too. Here she is trying to do the hula hoop game:

This weekend really flew by. It felt like my sisters had just arrived and then this morning, it was time for them to head on back to Virginia. They got ready to leave while we got ready for church. Now, for all of you non-smock lovers, bubble wearing, knee-sock haters out there (you know who you are) please pardon this next picture. Check out our Diastasis recti boy in his little firetruck smock bubble and new saddle shoes I got at the consignment sale for $3:

It was basically impossible to get a still picture of him this morning, right Dawn?! I was literally chasing him around our downstairs with my camera trying to get a shot of him. He was obviously running when I took the above picture. Speaking of consignment sale purchases, I didn't do too bad. I only spent $60 this time because the kids didn't need much. The best purchase? The above saddle shoes for $3 and another nice Willet leather pair for Easter for $5. Hip Hip Hooray!

Here's a picture of Caroline as she says goodbye to her baby Michael. She really loves this boy:And because today is such a gorgeous day, we ate lunch outside after church and enjoyed the sunshine. Afterwards, the kids played in the grass and on the playset. RoyBoy learned a new trick...climbing the slide all on his own at 16 months of age. He climbs all the way to the top and then lets go and and slides down on his belly. Like I said....yesterday was the first of many trips to the ER, I believe.

This week: Double coupons at KMart and Triples coupons at Harris Teeter for an entire week straight!!

Great WWU! What a fun weekend and you're right, it flew by! I had SO MUCH FUN at that consignment sale and want to vol again. I'm getting ready to post too.
You forgot to mention the wonderful turkey dinner you made for us Sat night but I'll mention it.
That pic of Roy Austin crying from bumping his head and Roy laughing is SO FUNNY! I'm glad he's okay and you handled yourself great and didn't show how worried you were.

And his knee socks, saddle shoes and fire truck bubble was SO CUTE on him this morning. I could just eat him up! Thanks again for a wonderful weekend. ILY

What a weekend!! I LOVE all your pictures!!! I, too, am so glad that little Roy Boy is all right. You were in our prayers as you took him in to the hospital. Those little pictures of him in his hospital gown are priceless. What a sweetheart...even if he's crying because he bumped his head....bless his little heart. All the other pictures are so nice, too. Those little saddle shoes are precious. I used to put you girls in saddle shoes and knee socks when you were toddlers. Love 'em!! I'm really glad you all had so much fun. Wish I could have come, too. Now it's on to another week. I wonder what it will bring.

Thanks for a really nice post!!!

I'm going to bullet point my comments:
*Michael looks ADORABLE sitting in the bumbo...such a sweet face that boy has!
*Love Dolly's earrings!
*Did you take the laundry baskets with you to the consignment sale? If so, now that's a sign of a professional!
*Poor little RA!!! I would have been so scared too to see something like that...you automatically think the worst. But, glad he is okay and I will Google that...I have never heard of it. But seriously, are little kids not the cutest in hospital gowns? Yum yum, could eat them up looking like that!
*Dawn isn't a blonde anymore...was the blondes have more fun thing overrated? She's a good sista!
*RA does look so cute in his knee socks, saddle shoes and bubble. What did Roy say about his outfit? :)
*Doubles at K-MART????? I'm so on that if they're doing it here!

Have a great week!

Your pictures are so funny. I was just telling Dolly on her blog that you two are some funny girls. You always make me laugh!

The pictures of Dolly are "grandma Reber laugh" worthy. Love how you posed the one on the curb.

Woooah Nelly??? Is that Sharon Osborn watching the children????

So good. I love all the pictures. I'll have to go back and check out Dolly's earings. So glad RA is okay as well. I know it's scary. Can't wait to see you all in a few weeks.

Great weekend recap as always!!!! It looks like you sisters had such a good time. Those pics of Dolly are great. She does look like she is really strategizing....that or she is praying that all the other women will overlook the good stuff. That Michael is just precious!

TOP DAWG.....LOVE THE BRUNETTE HAIR!!!!

I'm so sorry you had a scare this weekend. I will also have to google this condition. The way you describe RA sounds just like Preston. The good thing was that Preston was my first. I thought it was normal to be exhausted all the time and never sit down. Then Parker came along and he was so laid-back and quite....Parenting became so easy all of a sudden. He looks so cute in his saddle shoes and smock. Has Roy given you a time limit before he starts dressing him in camo?

Fun wrap up! So glad that RA is okay and will grow out of this. That had to be really scary! All of the pics are great and I'm glad you girls got some good deals!!

Wow - what a full weekend!
Dawn's dark hair looks awesome! She is so beautiful (as are all you girls).
Poor RA. WHat was that doctor thinking scaring you like that and making run off to the ER? But you're right, not going to be the first time. All of my boys have stitches IN THE HEAD once and little Tyson has already had them twice.
I want you to come to Oklahoma and help me super shop some time. :)
