Last night, Roy and I went on a much needed date. Let me take this time to emphasize how much I enjoyed sitting down to a nice dinner and not having to cut someone's food up, tell someone to "take a bite", not get interrupted fifteen times while trying to talk to Roy or hear Roy Austin perform his new operatic screech at the table. Oh, it was wonderful and I truly enjoyed every bite that entered my mouth! Afterwards, we went to see
Marley and Me. Roy and I really enjoyed it and agreed that it was a well written movie. First, the film is very pro-marriage/family and truly gave a good picture of how a marriage evolves over time. It proves that you have the
choice to make your marriage what you want it to be, regardless of the circumstances. The movie will also make you leave loving your pet (or in my case, making me feel guilty for how I treat my pet) or it will make you leave wanting a sweet little yellow lab. Mom and Daddy, it made me miss Nugette so badly!
In the story, Marley is a crazy, overly-playful, room-destoroying, fun loving dog. He's always into something, chewing on something, tearing up something, always disobeying, but is so sweet. I couldn't help noticing a slight resemblance between the way Marley acts in the movie and this guy:

Seriously, I leaned over to Roy at least twice in the movie and said, "Doesn't he remind you of Roy Austin?". I don't know what we're going to do with this boy. He is into
everything lately
. He is now
basically
running everywhere he goes.
I prefer to call him "curious" rather than "mischievous", but boy, does he ever keep me on my toes. I can be so mad at something he's doing and I'll look over at him and see these big blue eyes smiling back at me:

LOL. I'm sorry but I can't take your little Pavarotti seriously. He CRACKS me up....especially when he's being "curious" and looks up at you very seriously yet charmingly like "What? Gotta problem w/ it?" He is a TRIP.
I can't wait to see that movie but Max is so scared that he'll be an ugyly crying mess that he thinks he should see it at home.
Leland and I are going to see that movie this weekend. When I told him what you said about it making me feel bad about Boss, he said, "Let's go see it!" Funny!
Okay the third picture of RA looks JUST LIKE YOU when you were a baby. You know that pic of you holding the blocks and you have that mullet looking hair style? You should post that picture next to RA's.
Well Roy Jr. acts like his daddy......I can promise you that he will be as sweet as his daddy too!!!! He is so cute and I love th pictures. When Roy was little and I would get on him or yell at him, he would look at me with those huge blue eyes and I would want to cry for yelling at him. He would melt my heart. I never had to spank Roy like I did some others that I won't mention by name!!!
But.....I wouldn't change a thing about any of my children growing up, but maybe change me! I wasn't always such a good mom. Enjoy this time and I know you will. You are a great mom. All my daughters-in-law are...
How cute is he?! If we are having a boy I hope he is just as adorable! :)
I heard that movie was really great! I'm going to have to go see it!
I CAN NOT believe how big your little boy is! He looks like such a big boy now! So handsome!
How could you ever resist those beautiful blue eyes? What a cutie!
Shae, Anna and I saw that movie during Christmas vaca. Let me just say that we were NOT prepared for it! (we just had to put our dog to sleep last year!) So. WOW! Poor Shae was actually doing the "loud" cry during the movie and at one point Anna asked why we were crying (before the ending)...we ALL left the theater in tears and talked about our dog the whole way home!
Cute post Donna. I tell you, Roy Austin is a cutie!
Glad you got a romantic night away. I havent seen the movie, but will put it on my list now.
Roy Austin is ALL BOY! I love it. You got spoiled by having your sweet little girl first...then comes trouble. Boys are the BEST!
There is something about a little boy that captures a mother's heart! Not that a little girl does not, but it does in a different way.
I am glad you gave the movie a good review, I have heard mixed reviews that it was not appropriate for children. We haven't seen it yet, so maybe we will.
Okay, am I the only one that didn't cry at this movie? I'm one of those heartless non pet lovers..yes, I know I may be kicked out of the cool blog group for just writing that, but I cannot lie. I mean, it was sad, but I was so frustrated at the dog throughout the whole movie because he was such a pain in the neck. Actually, take that back, I did cry when I kept seeing Jennifer Aniston's legs and realized mine would never look like hers...
Anyway, that RA is one sweet little boy and I'm sad to say that he has lost that baby look...moved on to toddlerhood. :( You just let that little boy do whatever he wants and don't you dare get onto to him...Aunt Jenny will come to his rescue if you do!
Sommer, let me say that I don't think it's appropriate for children. The couple in the movie are married, but it shows them skinny dipping, and talking about sex a lot. Although they're married, you'd have a lot of explaining to do to your kids!!!
Jennifer, the entire audience was sniffing during the movie b/c they were crying. I am not a dog person by any means, but it was sweet and sad. I definitely didn't cry. LOL at Jennifer Aniston's legs. I thought the same thing!!
Jennifer, I am absolutely rolling at your comment. I am like you. I think pets are sweet but are more trouble than they are worth. I have never bonded with a dog to that degree. I am glad that it is a good family movie. Is it OK for my boys?
I agree with Dolly. When he smiles, he reminds me of you, Donna. He has Graham eyes but the rest of him reminds me of you.
Amen to Kristi's comment!
I have not seen the movie yet, but did checkout the review at pluggedinmovieonline.com (or something like that - it's Focus on the Family's site)
Oh the loud screams/screaching (spelling?) are happening at my house too! They just love to hear themselves, don't they. As I put Winnie to bed at night I pray that the screams would stop...haha..the Lord has heard my prayers the last few days, PTL! Ha ha ha!!
