Christmas Busy-ness!

We have packed a lot of last minute Christmas fun into this past week. Wednesday night my Bible study had a little dessert/ornament exchange at Jessica's house. It was fun to catch up with each other and hear everyones Christmas plans. Then on Thursday night we met up with the Johnsons and the Macklefreshs for our annual walk through McAdenville. We met at Fletcher's BBQ for some good eating and lots of laughs. Then we parked the cars, took the strollers out and started our walk. My camera was acting up that night and none of my pictures turned out except this one of the kids in their stroller:

It was a fun night and we took our little party to the Belmont Dairy Queen afterwards. Just a little heads up, if you're ever in the Belmont area, don't stop at the DQ. Keep going.

Caroline and I also started our gingerbread house this week and we finished it this morning. As we were making it, I had to remind myself several times that this was for "her" and that it was okay for it to be messy and not perfect!! She was a good helper and I learned a little patience, too!!:

Then this morning, my friend Jessica threw a "Happy Birthday, Jesus!" party at her house. Caroline was so excited about going and asked me if Jesus was really going to be there! It was such a cute idea and the kids loved it.

Jessica had a little manger craft for the kids to do. Notice the table is full of girls, while the boys are playing with the toys!

She made a cute cake for the ocassion...

...and the kids each placed a candle on the cake and blew it out together. Thanks, Jessica! It was such a cute party and we had a great time:)

What a great idea to have a Happy Birthday Jesus party! The gingerbread house turned out better than if I did it by myself. Good job Caroline!

Fun times! My sister's MIL has a birthday party for Jesus each year and invites all the kids in the neighborhood, etc. It's a great idea. Several in my family do a Jesus birthday cake, too. :o)

Great idea for the birthday party. I know our church sings happy birthday and my parent's church does the same with a cake to go with, but I love the idea of a party for the kids to go to!

I agree with your gingerbread house sentiment

I was laughing about the gingerbread house. Every time I do any projects with Adam I have to keep reminding myself to not worry about perfection and let him do it and have fun. ITS HARD! But I thought your GH looked great! i am sure Caroline is so proud everytime she looks at it.

And I loved the pictures of Caroline in the tutu in the last post. I agree with dolly that it deserves a frame. Nothing is cuter than a little girl in a tutu.

Awh, Donna, that little Gingerbread house is darling! I know that was so fun for Caroline to do with you. Way to go! Alright, I'm gonna do a Jesus birthday cake after reading this. That's great for the kids (and parents!)

Where do you "girl" moms get all these adorable dresses? It's like a little fashion show. Oh, how I would love to have a girl and doll her up! At this point I'd have to buy a girl, who knows...we're praying about adopting one day. Every time I see Caroline she's in a dress. I love that!

Yes, we have an anthropologie and I will be heading there asap! That's one of my favorite stores! My very first apron was from there. It gave me the apron "bug". I'll let you know if I find a deal! Thanks for the tip.
