How Do You Do, Sweet Boy?!

As many of you know, Michael Leland Seckman, Jr. was born on the morning of October 18. He weight 6.15 and was 21 inches long (I think!). Our family got in the car and drove up to Lynchburg to meet our newest family member. We were so excited...especially Caroline! All I can say is he is the sweetest thing! He is so tiny, probably the tiniest baby I've ever seen. (Jennifer, I can't imagine how small Max must have been!). His head is literally the size of a large orange and he is so birdlike! He is just precious. Thank you, Lord, for another healthy baby. Dolly and Leland are doing great, too. They're very relaxed, calm and just great!

Here is the proud mama showing off her blessing to the proud cousin. Doesn't Dolly look great?!

The proud parents! Now, that is one proud Daddy!

Here is the proud auntie doing baby talk with her sweet nephew. We bonded instantly and this guy came to life when I started talking to him. Maybe it's the similarities in his mom's and my voice, or maybe it's the fact that I'm a baby whisperer? I know my sisters are laughing. I just have a knack with kids. I can't help it. They love me!

I had to check out his features. He's so tiny! Check out those sweet little feet!

The Pro, aka "Uncle Roy"

I see Dolly written all over this kid. She thinks he looks like Leland, but the eyes and mouth scream Dolly.

Again, someone was realllllllllllly excited to see Michael. I took her to the potty in Dolly's room and she, very seriously, said, "Mommy, put a sister in your tummy". I asked her if she meant a baby and she said "No, a sister". Don't hold your breath, Carol.

And I'm so glad I was able to give the new parents a Biblical reminder that "children are indeed a blessing from the Lord". Exhibit A: the one on the left being fussy and pulling my hair while the one on the right is pulling me and begging me to go see the other babies in the nursery window. Like I said, don't hold your breath.

Congratulations, Seckmans! We love you ALL and are so happy for you:)

And just for fun....

On the drive home, we passed this semi going through Lexington, NC. Roy and I laughed so hard:
What in the world? I wonder what or who is in that semi? And I'm guessing this is Anastasia, the beautiful, Russian single woman?:

Donna, what a great post with such incredible photographs of your precious nephew. I know Dolly doesn't know me, but please give me my warmest congratuations and let her know that I will be praying for her in the coming weeks as she adjusts to this blessing. God is so good! There is nothing like seeing precious newborns. Life is such a miracle.

I got all emotional and then reading the end made me chuckle...what in the world is up with that Semi?

THANK YOU DONNA!!!! I have checked all the Reber girls' blogs multiple times a day over the last 24 hrs to see more about little Michael. HE IS JUST PRECIOUS!!! He looks like the sweetest little munchkin. I can just smell that sweet baby smell all the way in Texas. Keep the updates coming b/c I'm sure Dolly won't be blogging much over the next several weeks. I am so happy for Dolly and Leland.

Oh my goodness, that child is precious! I can't tell who he looks like yet...will need a few months to give my opinion on that one. He looks so alert in some of those pictures...must have been checking out his new cuz! And I think Uncle Roy actually liked having his picture taken...he looks so proud of Leroy Jr. :)

How's Dolly doing since she's been home? Is your mom with her?
