Poor Bristol Palin!
It's not bad enough that she's 17 years old and pregnant, but now the whole world knows about it and the news shows are dissecting the situation?! I feel so badly for this girl! As I was getting dinner ready, I had CNN turned on and Wolf Blitzer (he drives me crazy, by the way!) was tearing this girl apart. He couldn't believe that Gov. Palin didn't tell this fact when she was announced as McCain's running mate. Then there was a round table discussion on whether Bristol Palin should be considered "hands off" in the media or if this should now be in the debate of abstinence/sex education. You know this poor girl is humiliated. One CNN reporter said that when they found out about this story, they took it and "ran with it". What? I had to think about which news show I was watching...CNN or Entertainment Tonight?! Yet another reason why I cannot wait for this crazy election to be over with!!!!!!!!

I, too, feel sorry for that girl, and for the whole Palin family. You know the media is going to make a big thing out of this, and try to turn it into a negative point for the McCain campaign. I even heard today that the family is covering up the fact that the little baby born in April really belongs to the daughter, and they're just saying it's Sarah's. How crazy!!! I just today finished reading another Francine Rivers book....The Atonement Child. It's another really great book by this author. It has to do with a young girl who finds herself pregnant, and the amazing story that unwinds because of her problem. A book worth reading, and another page turner by Francine.
Email CNN and tell them what you think....It works.
What goes around comes around so those people that have been critical had better watch out.
Good points brought up by both previous commenters.
Has anyone thought to applaud her for carrying this baby? She could have "taken care of it" and the American Public would have never known. I have so much respect for Bristol now. And for her Mother for being so supportive.
As a sidenote: What is the deal with the names Sarah Palin and her husband name their children?
Preach it Jane! I'm couldn't agree more. I just turned on the TV and found out the news about Sarah's daughter. It's just like Satan to use something like this to take focus off what we need to be focusing on right now.
Mom, I want to borrow that book from you. I heard it was a good one too.
Nancy, we must have commented at the same time. I'm laughing at your side note. When I first saw Bristol's name, I thought it read "Bismol" as in Pepto.
Wooohoo! My mom and mother-in-law are the first to comment! Nancy, they do have strange names for their kids:) I thought the same thing when I heard her name!!
Mom, that is a good book. I read it last summer in Alaska (how fitting!!)
Oh, and by the way, I am going to write CNN. I was watching again tonight and Campbell Brown was literally being SOOOO rude to a McCain spokesperson b/c they couldn't tell her an example of an order Palin had given the Alaskan coastgaurd. I was gettting mad!!! I wish we got FoxNews:(
Donna, I'm not sure who your cable/satelite(sp) provider is, but Time Warner has Fox News on 57
I was at my parents house saying something about MSNBC and my dad looked at me like I had three heads and said try Channel 57 Fox News. I didn't think we got it either.
If you don't have Time Warner than I'm not sure how to get Fox News. Sorry.
I totally agree. What does all of that have to do with the election? CNN is so one-sided! I can't stand it!
What????? You don't get Fox News??? How is that possible? I was about get on to you for watching CNN.
I always feel like I'm whining about how the "mainstream media" jumps on Repbulicans but don't do the same with democraps. But, it's TRUE!!! I distinctly remembering checkng CNN.com a lot to see if they would write anything about John Edwards. They may have done a few articles on it, but it took them FOREVER. Of course, I looked this morning and I think the top couple of stories are about Palin and her daughter. Ridiculous.
Anyway, I do feel bad for Bristol because she didn't ask to be put in this situation. But, this will make her a tough gal and she will be better for it...hopefully.
Preach it, JA!!!!
I'll give it to Obama. Probably the classiest thing I have heard him say was something to the jist of "People's children are certainly OFF LIMITS and that is one card we will not pull. Palin's daughter being pregnant has nothing to do with her potential job performance."
Fox News is the way to go. Me heart Shep Smith AND F & F. Me NOOOOO heart CNN. BOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Bottom line...pretty much anyone that has taken part in pretty much any premarital "goings ons" OR for that matter, anyone that has children can just zip judgement on Bristol...PERIOD. Like Jane said, ole Wolf (or any other critic) could very well find him/herself in the shoes of the Palin fam...be it Bristol's OR her parents!
I don't know how I feel about Sarah subjecting Bristol to all of this attention but I DO commend her for still being proud of her daughter and including her visible presence just like she did with the rest of her family.
Me agree. This made me mad this morning as I finally heard the news. I was watching GMA and I was so mad at them. They did show Obama's comment and I must say it was the first time I said, "Good for Nobama."
Hands off the children!
I know, I know. With the package we get on Dish Network, we only get CNN and their other networks like HEadline NEws, ect. If I get Fox News it's another $40 a month or something? It's crazy.
Hannah, I agree. I kind of don't like how Sarah Palin threw her daughter into this situation with the media. I know it had to come out, but bless her heart, it's ALLLLL over the news. THey even had a pic of her basketball picture on GMA this morning and her boyfriend's myspace profile. She'll need some counseling for sure!
That is terrible. I love fox news!! and I really believe these liberals are made that this young girl is actually having her baby, they would be loving it if she was having an abortion. This liberals make me so mad. I think there is alot more to come on Palin. They are going to do all they can to bring her down. I am keeping her and her family in my prayers. This must be so difficult on their family.
First of all, I thought the same thing Jennifer, NO ONE wanted to talk about John Edwards, they said it is a private matter. Media bias is so incredibly frustrating!!!
HPS-I used to really like Shep, but he is Al Gore's clone when it comes to global warming and I just can't listen to him anymore!!
I couldn't agree with you more. And Jenius is right about that book. Its great!
