We have been very busy these past few days. First off, though, Roy made it home safe and sound. It is wonderful having him back and the kids are so happy, too.

He stayed home on Tuesday morning and relaxed with the family. We went to Caroline's swim class, Chick-fil-a and the Fresh Market together. Here are 2 very happy children to have their Daddy home!
The other night I was putting stuff away before the kids' bedtime. I passed by the playroom and saw Caroline doing this:

She was sitting on Roy Austin's play boat reading her Bible. She had the Little People Noah's Ark in front of her and she had pulled the Bible outfit she got at Vacation Bible School out of the dress up box and put it by her feet, too. I asked her what she was reading about in her Bible and she said "Noah's Owwk".
On Wednesday, we had Savannah over to play all day. Her
mommy was being a good citizen and sitting through jury selection at the court house. Poor Chrystal!! She has been through it this past week. I have never been selected for jury duty (I'm knocking on wood) and I hope to never be.
Caroline and Savannah had a great time together. They played in the pool....

...performed an impromptu piano recital...
...and sewed some wild oats living it up Barbie Style. Savannah is the sweetest little thing. After I would change her diapers or wipe her face, she'd say "thank you" in her sweet, little voice! I love a child with manners:)
By the way, this is one of my new favorite products. It's dish detergent with a built in air-freshener at the bottom of the bottle! Genius! This particular scent is apple pear and it makes my sink area spell magnificent. Yes, the red sticker indicates right! I got it on clearance at Target...and I had a coupon. (Sorry, I know this is random.)
Today Roy took the day off of work to spend with us. One of my favorite things to do is to spend the day with Roy just running around town. So, we ran a few errands and went to Monkey Joe's, where he and Caroline had a great time jumping, climbing and sliding down all of the inflatables.

Caroline and Daddy: Ready to conquer Monkey Joe's.
This little guy conquered the kiddie area. He would tumble over and just laugh. It's funny how careful we were with Caroline when she was his age. With him, we just say "you're fine.. get up."
Case in point. Easy, big guy. You are still a baby.
He loved it!
This is his new thing...sucking his thumb while holding some of his hair in the back of his head with his left hand. So cute:)
Here is a picture of Roy getting on to a little boy for pushing Caroline on one of the slides. As you can see, Caroline could care less and is moving on to something else. I know there are a lot of pictures, but just bare with me.

There they go! Poor Caroline. It's awfully hard to be lady-like climbing and sliding in a dress. At least she had on bloomers. In my defense, I did not know we were going to MJ's until we pulled in the parking lot. If I had known, she would have worn shorts and I would have been playing, too!
Roy owed Caroline a few dates, so we went to PeiWei for lunch. Roy takes her there just about every Wednesday night on a date. They call it "China". It's their place. They were nice enough to let me and Roy Austin tag along. We let them sit together and we tried not to make too much noise, although we totally felt like third wheels.

Looks like a fun week. Thanks for the updates...I'd been anxiously awaiting. What a cute family. Oh and Edward did the thumb and hair thing although he twisted the front of his hair and still does sometimes:)
She is BACK, haha all your blog readers were awaiting your return! Glad you all had a few fun days together to make up for loss time!!
Cute post Donna. I love the picture of Roy and Care Bear at Pei Wei. That's cute that you and RA interupted their date. I'm glad you have your man back and it looks like your kids are pretty happy too.
This was another nice blog. I've been waiting for another one....not that it's been that long, but I just love reading your blogs!! Your writing and your pictures are always so interesting. I'm so glad you have Roy back. He looks like he's glad to be back, too, and the children look really glad to have him back. I hope he's able to stay home for a long time now before he goes out again. Thanks for this new entry. We'll be seeing you all soon. ILY
my favorite part is the bit about caroline and her friend living it up barbie style!! good one.
i already miss your pretty face!
waaaaaahhh!
Yeah- a new post! And a good one at that! Glad yall are having a good week; I know you are glad Roy is home!
my youngest plays with her ear while sucking her thumb. it's just too cute.
These types of posts are my favorite...just pictures and comments about your daily life!
Again, I'm going to steal that RA one day when you're not looking - that child is absolutely precious! His hair is just perfectly coiffed. Oh, and I love the thumb/hair thing...although, just think where that thumb had been?!? :)
Were you a proud mommy of Caroline or what?!?! I think she may just be the next Beth Moore!
Coupon question...did you have a general Target coupon or one specifically for that brand/product?
I'm SO jealous you guys have a PeiWei...one of my favorite restaurants! There was one down the road from my parents in Dallas and we would eat there all the time. They have the best salad with grilled chicken-yummy!!
The pictures are so cute!!! Roy looks great! I am glad he took some time to hang with the family...Good boy Roy! Glad you are all together again!
Oh, how cute! Aron does the same thing...sucking his thumb or bottle and the other hand holds a lock of his hair!
Great recap...I'm glad Roy is home safe and the family is complete again. Cute pictures too. I love RA's thumb picture! Samuel cups his ear when he sucks his thumb.
Oh, and I love that Roy and Caroline have dates. How special!
Cute post Donna...I could only think of 2 things while reading your post. #1--I feel for your friend that had jury duty. I only lived in CLT for 3 years and had to do jury duty!! I mean people were telling me they have lived there for over 30 years and never had to do it...guess they leave it to the newbies. It was aweful...until they found out that I worked for BGEA and then I got booted offthe jury. woo hoo! :) #2--I REALLY miss Pei Wei! That was one of my favorite places to eat there!!! Loved your pics!
Waaaaay to make up for lost time at the Station. Cute pics! Where is the Monkey Joe's in Clt? I've only been to the one at the lake. It is soooo fun for all ages! :) Welcome Home Roy! Love, Hannie
Thanks for taking such great care of Savannah. I can only imagine she's soon going to want a Barbie car like Caroline's! Too cute! She woke up this morning very disappointed that she couldn't go play with her friends today. Thank you again for everything; You're the BEST!
That is SOOOO sweet that Roy takes Caroline on a date every week. What a good daddy he is for doing that. She will marry a great guy one day because of the standard her daddy set.
I loved all the pictures of your fun day. RA is such a sugar muffin. There is nothing cuter than a sweet baby sucking their thumb.
I so love that Dawn dishwashing detergent.
My boys have been asking to go to Monkey Joe's. It looks like Pump It Up that we used to go to in Arizona.
So glad you had such a fun day as a family. It is the best when Daddy can be home from work and may I add so well deserved since he has been globe trotting.
Cute, Donna. Norah did the thumb and hair thing for awhile too - just like RA...but mostly when she went to sleep. I laughed out loud at Roy taking care of business with that little boy that pushed Caroline...he's a good Daddy.
