Happy Birthday, Dayna!!

Today is my oldest sister's birthday. Since we were little, our family has carried on the birthday tradition of going around the table at cake time to tell the birthday person why we love them. We would each have a turn to look the birthday girl in the eye and tell her what we loved about them and why they were special to us. Since I'm not in Virginia today, I will have to pour my little heart out over the blog. Sorry, Dayna!
Although Dayna is ten years older than me and we are now grown, I can truly call her a friend. When I was little, she was always like a second mother to me....always helping Mom out, an ear to listen, a comforting voice to hear when I was scared or sad. Look at the above picture and you can see that she was very nurturing to all of her little sisters, even at a young age. I remember when she was attending grad school at the University of Tennessee and I came to spend a whole week with her one summer. I was around 13 and I thought she was so cool--I always did. She had her own apartment, she spoiled me the entire week and she even took me to the zoo and to Blockbuster to pick out whatever movies I wanted. Pretty cool, huh?! She also took me to a certain restaurant but I won't go into that (personal joke)!! Anyway, Dayna has always made me feel special. That's the kind of person she is. I see this now carried out in the way she treats her own children. Her four children are so polite, sweet and they LOVE their mommy--especially her first son. I also love how we have a new commonality between us---sons born 3 weeks apart. I never thought I'd be pregnant with her, but I was! I can't wait to see our sons grow up and get into mischief together. So, Happy Birthday, Dayna! I love you very much and am so proud to be your little sister. Enjoy your day.
It's also my friend, Elizabeth Poplin's birthday today. Elizabeth has been such a great friend to me here in Charlotte. I am so thankful for her friendship and the wonderful teaching and insight she gives our Bible study. She is expecting her second son in October and she is a wonderful Mommy! Now if only she'd get a blog!! Happy Birthday, Elizabeth:)

That was a sweet post Donna. Happy Bday Dayna! I was going to do a post about her too but my computer is messed up. I'm at work today. I love the cullots (sp?) that Dayna is wearing! She and Denise were always a good sport about those. Wasn't that pic taken at Peaks of Otter? Good memories.

Happy Bday Elizabeth too!

Happy Birthday Dayna!

Donna, looking forward to reading your post about Triple Coupons. Do you remember the Nutters? Heather, Susan and Katie Nutter? You probably know that Katie lives here..well, her parents are moving here! I am excited as Mrs. Marilyn Nutter was my Prof. at Liberty. She has a great website with devotions and recipes and I made one of the recipes and posted it on my blog at: http://recipesoffriends.blogspot.

Marilyn's blog is: www.marilynnutter.com

Blessings to you today as you save a ton of money at Harris Teeter,

Caroline

I have told Denise this several times, but the relationships you Reber girls share are so special! You are all so blessed to have each other.

And I love the pictures that you post of your family!

Donna, What a beautiful tribute to your sister --- and really to ALL of your sisters and family. I've often wondered what it must have looked like/been like with all the Reber girls together ---what a SWEET picture of you all. And how PROUD your parents must be. I LOVE the idea of sharing what you like/love about the birthday girl...I think we'll just copy that one from this day forward! Happy Birthday, Dayna -- you must be an awesome #1 daughter and sister!

Happy Birthday Dayna! As I've said before I'm the youngest of 5 and my sister is 10 years older than me too. She's now one of my closest friends and is a great advice giver on life issues...older sisters ROCK!!! Go VOLS!

Happy Birthday to Elizabeth too !

Happy Birthday to my big sissie Dayna! I am SO happy that you were born first. I know I don't have what it takes to be a first born. You always have and I am so proud of you for all you have accomplished during your life so far. Dayna, FYI, has been an intern in the White House, and has a Masters from UT in speech path., AND she basically ran a radio station too! AND she is and a speech therapist. Oh oh oh, and she has lived two places other than Lynchie on her own AND traveled the world.

But most importantly, she is a great mommy and wifie! A p31! I love you Dayna. Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Dayna. I am a little late posting. You are a natural born mother. You look like a mother hen gathering her chicks in the Reber family picture. You were at LU the same time as me so I hope you are younger than the 39 that I am. I hope you had a good birthday.
