This is so disgusting that I had to post about it. Yesterday I conquered the family laundry. As I went to the kids' rooms to get theirs, I also changed a poopy diaper of Roy Austin's. After wrapping it up, I threw it into the bottom of the laundry basket so I could toss it into the garbage can in the garage. Well, I forgot about it.
Maggie, our chihuahua, calls the laundry room home. She even has a little sign on the door welcoming guests with a friendly little one-inch, blue paw print. She loves to sleep in a laundry basket containing dirty clothes. Do you see where this is going? News flash: Apparently she also loves the taste of poop.
I went in this morning to take the dry clothes out and start the last load of laundry. As I reach for some clothes, I notice a diaper...hey, wait a second...what IS that? A poop stained baby wipe? Then I realize that I'm looking at a poop stained diaper with NO POOP IN IT?!! GROSS! Maggie tore into that thing. I mean, she had to dig and scratch to get it open. Ughhh! It makes me sick to think that she ATE human poop. What's wrong with her? It makes me want to gag just thinking about it.
For your sakes, I refrained from taking a picture.

Yucko! Thanks for sparing us from a picture.
I'm dry heaving as I'm reading this. Now that is discusting! Think of how she is always licking your hand and skin too. You need to give that dog a good breath mint!
Um, more like a mouth cleansing. I'm never letting her lick me or the kids again! Okay, I'm being dramatic, but that tongue of hers won't be coming near any of us until she can prove to us that she won't eat poop any more.
Your dog is full of crap! :)
That is DISGUSTING!!! Seriously, that is one of the nastiest things I've heard of in awhile. Did you find any proof of poop around her mouth - dried flakes or anything like that? PLEASE tell me you're not one of these dog owners who lets their dog lick their mouth...please Donna, please...just lie to me if you are.
Well, Donna...the moral of this story is that you need to start disposing of your family's fecal matter instead of letting it lay all around your house like you live in Calcutta India. LOL!
That is gross! At least RA just eats breastmilk and baby food so it was at least wholesome poop.
Jennifer, I actually call myself Cruella DeVil. I am not a big animal person, but Maggie has kinda grown on me. I have NEVER let her lick my face...my hands are as much as I'll let her. I haven't gone near her mouth to see any "flake" residue.
Kristi--laughing at your Calcutta remark. The whole situation was my fault. However, I got into a spring cleaning frenzy yesterday and forgot about the poopy diaper. Oh, and RA is down to only one feeding now:)
YUCK!!! Dogs will eat anything!
So gross! Doggie dentist? Time for a good cleaning!
MAGGIE! For shame, for shame. Not to worry...TMI but Sercy and Trigger BOTH love panties (I'm not talking clean ones) and my poor mom has found many a feminine hygiene product strewn all over the floor in shreds in JR's bathroom. NASTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with HPS --- they LOVE anything in the feminine hygiene realm --- don't let her near your wastebaskets! As disgusting as it is, it probably won't be the last-----thank goodness groomers will CLEAN TEETH, too! :) Too funny....
Donna, you are so funny!
And, how about Kristi last night??!!
She was great! What did you think about Edyta's outfit?! We let Caroline stay up with us to watch some dancing and we had to fast forward that dance. It was a little too much:) She was telling me how she like Kristi's first outfit and I told her that I liked it too, but the other girl (Edyta) was showing her belly too much and it was unappropriate. When Edyta came out after her costume change Caroline said "oh, Mommy. She is showing her belly." Good girl, Carol.
I mean "INappropriate"--not unappropriate.
I think I am going to throw up.
Oh wow thats nice donna, thank you for the story. And Maggie loves to give kisses and cuddle in your neck. Geez cant wait for her to cuddle with me next time!
Donna, when I was about 4 and living in England my older brothers and I would walk up the road to play in beautiful English meadows that had cows. Our collie ran and played with us, however, he liked to eat cow dung! Reading your post made me think of that and how sick I felt as a child seeing him do that. No matter how many times my parents told him not to he kept on. Horrible.
I know exactly how you felt! We had the same problem with Daisy when AK was born - only she ATE a diaper and some dirty wipes before I discovered what she was up to. That was almost as much fun as the time she ate the dishrag :) Imagine what fun it was to pick up parts of that diaper in the yard for the next week...
That is a gross story...then again I have a video on youtube with my dog eating his poo after he made delivery. GROSS!!!
Deputy would do the same thing...with the cow piles. She would disappear for a while and then come back smelling of manure. She had eaten it and rolled in it! So gross!!!
