....The Mice Will Play

The cats were away on Friday night, so Suzanne, Hannah and I decided to get together for a little fun while our hubbies were cheering on the Hurricanes in Raliegh. Ashleigh also joined us for "girls night in". We decided to gather at my house while we enjoyed some girl-talk over yummy Wolfmann Pizza, and Caroline entertained the babies.

Roy Austin, Caroline, AnnaPreston and Sarah in their footy pajamas! Caroline was in heaven being the oldest. She enjoyed feeding the girls cheerios and eating brownies.

One by one, the children went to bed while we watched Dan in Real Life (a GREAT movie) and ate brownies and ice cream. Well....all of the children went to bed, except ONE LITTLE GIRL:

Little AnnaPreston would not go to sleep! After two attempts and lots of screaming, she joined the big girls for the rest of the movie.

11:15--DING DONG! Guess who's at the door?! Yep...the Chinese Princess herself....Stacey!!!

As you can see, we are a fun bunch. Being a stay-at-home-mom is hard work and the diet coke didn't seem to help. We were Ti--red. But Stacey and Ashleigh were ready to party. Oh, and yes. AnnaPreston is still WIDE awake.

One word: "Computer" and we were awake and ready to go. The computer came out around 11:30. I think that's a record for this crowd of blog/facebook/myspace lurking girls. As you can see Sarah woke up, but that didn't stop Suzanne. Our fun shindig ended around 11:45 when everyone headed home to put babies to bed and wait for husbands. Nothing like a little Friday Night Fun.

Cool post! You liked DinRL??? We thought it was eeee, I give it a 3 out of 5 stars. We watched Amazing Grace last night. Good movie, GREAT story, just a wee bit slow, but still worthy of the song, worthy of the peepers (eye's).

BTW, I see a little of Margaux in RA.

I loved DiRL. To reiterate what Dawn said, it reminds me of our family... (ie: Talent show, the kids, etc). I thought it was a cute movie. I give it 5/5 stars. Amazing Grace was a good movie, too. It gets the wheels in your head turning. It is a slow one, though.

That looks like such a fun night just all being together and eating fattening food---yum! I think it's so cute that all the kiddos had a little PJ party too. HP--Samuel is like AP I think..can't miss a party!

Cute kiddos in their footie pj's!! My child will NOT sleep when I take her to someone else's house at night...she was up until 11pm one night we were over with some friends because she would NOT go to sleep. I can relate...And - I also loved Amazing Grace!

DiRL....GREAT MOVIE. I've downloaded the song..."Let my love open the door.." that he sang to Marie at the talent show. So Sa-weet! I actually think Steve Carell is kinda cute...I know, I know, some one will read that and think I'm crazy. Okay, not just kinda cute, he's adorable! I think it's the humor thing that I'm attracted to.

Donna, in a word...hospitality! Makes me wanna have a girls night at my house.

Okay Donna, I am going to come just hang out with you one weekend! What fun you girls have.
We loved Dan in Real Life. I just watched it for a second time. Huge Steve Carell fans. Another great movie we just watched was August Rush. Check it out

Angela....I totally think Steve Carrell is adorable. He really is!

Just catching up on your blog. WAHHHHH, when I see posts like these, it makes me sad I can't be there. Looks like you girls had fun and I KNOW the conversation was full of lots of laughs and fun. Glad to see the Chinese Princess made it too. Caroline looks so big compared to the others.

By the way...I think Steve is cute too Angela. He's funny and charming.

Donna said...

Angela, I think he's cute, too! I even like his big nose. It is his personality, I think, that is the icing on the cake. I don't think you're weird at all for thinking that! It's like Simon Cowell...for some reason, I think he's good looking?! Isn't that crazy?!!!!

Jennifer said...

Donna, so what you're saying is you like tight t-shirts on men and butt-cuts?

Donna said...

Jennifer, it's not so much the shirt as it is his accent and his overly sarcastic sense of humor. Or is it his confidence? I don't know what it is but something about Simon I find appealing. Weird, I know.

Jennifer said...

No, I'm kidding. I know what you mean. I like Simon too and I love his confidence. Although, I would not want to be his girlfriend...can't you just imagine what you would have to put up with?? Painful.

How jealous am I... it looks like you girls had such a wonderful time on Friday night. Nothing like a Girls Night Out.

I am a little worried about all of you who commented above on Simon and Steve C. I don't know quite what to say other than I bet you all find Jack Black attractive as well. Ha Ha! J/K

I have my own little confession as a "TWEEN" mom. I think Zac Efron from High School Musical is darling and if I was a teen girl, I would SO have his posters in my room and practice kissing on his pictures. LOL!

Dolly said...

Actually Kristi, I think Jack Black is kind of cute too! especially in the movie, "The Holiday." I tell you, it's all in a mans confidence and personality. Looks are a plus but usually it's the confidence and personality for me.

Donna said...

Dolly! I was going to say the same thing about Jack Black. In the movie "The Holiday" (one of my all time faves, by the way), he is so cute! Once again, it's his personality. But he is a cutie in that movie. See, I'm not all about looks. It's what's inside a man that counts:)

I agree about being Simon's girlfriend. Can you imagine what his girlfriend's self esteem is like? If you asked him if you looked fat, he would tell you "yes"! YIKES!

Jennifer said...

I know, Donna. I'm all about my husband lying to me when I ask him how I look. Unfortunately, I'm married to Honest Abe so sometimes he just can't help himself if he doesn't like something I'm wearing. I'm working on his lying skills though...they're improving slowly but surely.

Denise said...

Girls (Dolly and Donna), what is wrong with us??? As sisters we are totally not on the same page as far as movie likes! I did not like The Holiday (it was STUPIDLY immoral), and was not crazy about DinRL. And, I loved Dream Girls and you two did not. What up with that?

Donna said...

Denise, Dreamgirls was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOStupid. I remember watching it with you and you raved about how good it was. I was so bored! And I'm a musical junkie, too! Yes, the Holiday did have a part or two in there that wasn't moral, but you have to admit, it is a cute movie. I know what you're thinking...sin is fun! I could watch it over and over again.

Donna said...

BTW, I'm thinking of a show....I can't think of the name but it has Candace Bergen in it and that guy from the Price Line commercials? hmmmmmm.....

Angela Richardson said...

Simon Cowell...he's cute too! (picture that what I'm about to say is in an english accent) "Simon, other than the hair, I think you've really got charisma, but the hair reminds me of a cruise ship director from the 80's." Oh, if you could only have heard me doing that, it was so much funnier!!! Sometimes, you write for yourself and yourself only I guess.

Anybody seen PS I Love You?...that guy was cute!

Kristi Smalley said...

I LOVED P.S. I LOVE YOU!!! SO CUTE. Angela, did you think Harry Conick Jr. was cute or the Irish guy who played her husband? I think the guy who played H. Swank's husband was cute as well as his friend that she meets later in the movie.

I haven't seen the Holiday but I may take the moral high road (that's me....always Christlike) and not watch that one b/c I'm sure it is full of EVILNESS and SIN....Does Paw-Paw know you watch such trash, Donna?
LOLOL! I am kidding!

Just now catching up on the blogs after the weekend. Friday night was much fun! Thanks for hosting us Donna!! Glad AP & Sarah slept in for you girls. Like Suz, I want to watch Dan in Real Life again, paying more attention. :o) Good food, good friends, sweet kids, lots of laughs!

The only bad thing in The Holiday is a STUPID one night stand. It's so unrealistic and crazy.
