1. Cleaning--She loves to clean. She jumps at the opportunity to get a napkin or baby wipe and clean up a spill. She will wipe anything and everything up and sing "Sing Sweet Nightingale" from Cinderella while she does it. When we dine out, we have to tell her to leave her mess and explain to her that the waitress will clean up the spilled food on the floor. She comes running when I open the dishwasher or dryer to help me. Yes, it is nice, but she's on the verge of being OCD about it.
2. Playing Mommy- This, too, I thought was cute when she first started. She'd grab Bitty Baby and pretend to change her diaper, bathe her, even breast feed her (a sight to see, believe me). Now it's starting to get a little annoying, especially when she tells me that she's the Mommy and I'm Caroline and she tries to carry Roy Austin's car seat with him in it.
So, this afternoon I opened the dishwasher to unload another load of dishes. My apprentice came running to help, of course. (She's actually pretty good at knowing where things belong). I told her to put the bottles where they belonged and I handed her the breast pump shield along with it. Well, I turn around a few seconds later and she had her shirt lifted and had connected the shield to the bottle and was sticking it to her belly! She was also whispering "Pump milk, pump Milk..." (those who have pumped, imagine the sound the machine makes. That's what we say when I pump!). It was hilarious! I didn't want to laugh at her and embarrass her so I just smiled and told her what a good Mommy she was.....then I grabbed my camera and asked if I could take her picture.
Pardon how my daughter looks. She just woke up from her nap and, what can I say...the girl LOVES her Crocs!

SEND STRAIGHT TO LAUGH JAR. DO NOT PASS GO. DO NOT COLLECT $200. This is PRICELESS. I L-O-V-E, love it!!!!! Silly Carol...
Too funny! What a good mom to grab the camera and get a picture!! Thanks for sharing this moment with us. :O)
Carolyn is so confident in her "belly feeding". And, you know the cleaning gene comes from her Auntie Dawnie!! Wait until she brings you a coaster for your drink! LOL! Cute post DJ! Cuuute post! You are a good mommy!
SOOOOO Cute! I love it! Thanks for sharing with us!!
Top Dawg...you do realize you spelled her name "Carolyn" right? I hope that was an accident and her auntie really knows how to spell the name. Maybe you were trying to be funny?!
the oldest of 6, i had a lot of baby responsibility at a young age. when i was 7 and christy was a baby i was watching her for mom while she was cooking dinner one night and she wouldn't stop crying. i tried everything! so, finally i decided she must be hungry. so, i tried to feed her like mommmy fed her. funny thing, 7 year old breasts just don't put out much milk. a few minutes later i went into the kitchen crying with a red chest and a crying baby in my arms and said, "mom, she wont eat!"
embarressing!
more embarrassing that i can't spell.
Funny Donna! I am glad that you got a picture!
BTW, Suzy? Are you there? Why have you shut me out? Whaaaa
Hilarious!! Caroline is too cute! I remember wanting so badly to be like my mom. She just wants to be like her mommy!! Too cute!
Denise, you are not shut out. I invited you on my blog.
Great post! Carol's face it priceless. She's probably wondering why you would want to get a picture of her doing that.
Teecy, that's hilarious that you tried to feed Christy. That would have been a great picture.
My first comment on your blog - mark it down!
Seriously, how cute is that picture!!! I LOVE Caroline's hair - adorable! And that Roy Austin - could just eat him up. He's got good hair too!
My mom bought my sister and I the Jessica Seinfeld book about 4 months ago - do you think I've cooked anything from it? NOPE But, you've given me some inspiration so I'm going to have to get to it!
Your kids do have GREAT HAIR. Denise, Margaux does too. They have so much hair. I keep rubbing Olivia's head hoping to stimulate more hair growth. We finally have enough to put in tiny hair bows.
I have a question?....does Caroline ever wear just a pair of sweatpants from Target and a T-shirt usually with a few food stains on it? Every picture I see of her, she looks like she just got back from church....J/K SO CUTE!!! I need to keep bidding on EBAY for those smock dresses.
Donna, love the map. WHose reading Station in Springfield, IL?!?!
Kristi, LOL. Caroline wears a dress DAILY. It was my husband's request before she was born, and we've created a MONSTER! That's all she wants to wear now. She's very feminine/lady like:)
HPS--Springfield, IL is my friend Crystal. She used to live in VA.
whooo Donna. I have to say, your blog gets hits minutes within seconds of each other. You're really a site to see.
Too cute! Ask Caroline what kind of pump she recommends for a pumper to be...
oops, that was me on adult.learning (my work account)..things are slow today! :)
I LOVE that she loves to clean...haha...me too, me too!!! :) haha And I have to admit, Joshua got me some adorable crocs for Christmas and I would live in them if I could. :)
Can I just say, I am so excited about Lost tonight!!
Finally, Suzy! I was waiting for you to respond about LOST. We'll have to go over a recap on Sunday.
Oh my word---that is SO CUTE. You are sweet to not embarrass her by laughing, but it had to be so hard not too!
Donna, I love this picture. I cannot tell you how similar Caroline & Mary Farrell sound. We really need to get those two together! Mary Farrell and Lilly are 19 months apart. What's your age difference?
I hadn't started blogging when Mary Farrell took my breast pump and did the same thing, so I have no picture...boy do I wish I did! That is just priceless!
I think Teecy's story takes the cake for best comment this time!
Amen, Joy, on Teece! Hilarious.
Donna...your map...OUT OF CONTROL!!!!!!!! You need to do a who's who of your fans like Denny based on your map. I also HIGHLY recommend going private!
Joy, Caroline is 2 1/2 years older than RA. It is a good range, I think. She will boss him around for the rest of his life I'm afraid. We tell him daily that he's going to have to learn to fight and stand up for himself against her!
HPS, I'm thinking about going private. Unlike Dolly, I have no stalkers, though.
Donna, you really should make yours private. It makes you feel so much better when you comment and do posts. Seriously, you could have a psycho stalking your family and your cute little ones. Just keep it in the circle of trust!
I think it's hilarious that it took getting to know the duo of Kristi/Jennifer to get our comments to go out the roof! Wow. What meeting fellow bloggers will do!
The "Springfield IL" reader has left Obama 08 facility (just kidding -- they rent the top floor in the same building that my State office is located) and is staying home with 10 inches of snow. Talk about "Lost" in the Midwest...I knew where many of you were glued last night! Crystal
Wow Donna - I feel so honored to be a part of your blog's growth. Who would have thought I could have had so much impact on one's popularity. Actually, the real reason your comments have increased is because Kristi and I have no life except for commenting on blogs!
Have you guys had stalkers on your blog? I've always heard of that happening but have never known anyone that's had it done to them.
I'm sure all my ex-boyfriends Google me all the time and come upon my blog (that is if they can remember my name). That's why I make sure the only pictures of me on my blog are ones where I'm looking the skinniest-no muffins on my blog. I also make sure I Photoshop all the wrinkles/crows feet off.
Wow!!!! Jennifer, I'm with you....what a compliment!!! I feel like I have just received the Academy award in the blog world. Thank you to everyone who made this possible!
Special honors to Denise who brought this wonderful family all together.
