My sister-in-law, Kristy, "tagged" me for this game and we all love playing...come on, admit it! It's fun to read people's answers. So, if you have a blog and feel like it, play along and post your answers.
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper! Are you kidding me?! I love wrapping Christmas presents. I even worked at Belk's gift wrapping department during the Christmas season in highschool and college, so I can wrap like the best of them:)
2. Real or Artificial tree? REAL! Again, are you kidding me? You HAVE to get a real tree for Christmas. (See the bottom for a great tip/keepsake idea from yours truly!).
3. When do you put up the tree? The weekend after Thanksgiving. We get our tree in Boone while visiting the in-laws at Thanksgiving and that Saturday is spent decorating the house Graham style!
4. When do you take the tree down? I hate this part. First of all because it means Christmas is over and second, because I hate taking down the tree..the tangled lights, needles everywhere, ornaments crashing to the floor and breaking, hauling big boxes upstairs to storage. Ughhh. Usually either January 1st or 2nd.
5. Do you like Eggnog? Only when I have to drink it at Ms. Bettes house when we visit her on Christmas Eve and she breaks it out! I know my sisters are laughing right now. Ms. Bettes is our old babysitter who we've gone Christmas caroling to every Christmas Eve since I can remember. She loves to serve Egg Nog to my Egg Nog hating family and I love watching my brothers-in-law faces when she asks them if they would like some--especially Juette's! He stumbles over his answer every time!
6. Favorite Gift you received as a child? Hands down, anything Barbie. I was OB-SESSED with Barbies and that's all I ever wanted. They were like soap operas for me...I had story lines for each doll and I spent hours each day directing them.
7. Do you have a nativity scene? I have two...three if you count Caroline's Little People set. It's so cute!
8. Hardest person to buy for? Hands down, my father-in-law! He is impossible.
9. Easiest person to buy for? Any of my sisters and Caroline.
10. Worst Christmas gift ever received. I'm not going to say because the person may be one of my lurkers on this blog. Let's just say it was given two years ago by a family member and Dawn, Dolly and I got our picture taken in them!
11. Christmas Cards....snail mail or e-mail? US Postal Service all the way. I love Christmas cards--sending them and receiving them. I love going to the mail box in December and seeing how peoples children have grown over the year!
12. Favorite Christmas Movie? Oh, where do I begin. I love White Christmas, Holiday Inn, It's a Wonderful Life, Polar Express, Christmas Vacation, ELF, I just love a good Christmas movie. ABC Family has one on each night and Lifetime has really silly ones on all day long:)
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? It is different each year. I'm still not done yet for this year!
14. Have you ever 'recycled' a Christmas present? I'm sure I have:)
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Our family's Christmas Eve dinner. It's a hit each year!
16. Clear or colored lights (or both) on the tree? On the family tree, colored. On a special themed tree, white.
17. Favorite Christmas Song? I love O, Holy Night. It's a classic and beautiful.
18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Travel. We start with my family and then go to Roy's family (three stops). We are exhausted by the time we make it back to Charlotte.
19. Can you name Santa's Reindeer? You know Dasher and Dancer and Comet and Blitzen, Cupid and ???? I've drawn a blank. I thought singing the song would help!
20. Do you have an Angel or a Star on top of you tree? Star.
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning? My family has the tradition of opening the presents on Christmas Eve after reading the Christmas story. We all get our new Christmas pjs on and get our leftovers from dinner and the cookies out and then we all take turns opening the presents. Whoever wants to, spends this night at Mom and Daddy's and then the next morning we get our stockings:)
Okay, so about my tip I was telling you about... if you have a real tree. If you have a new baby who will celebrate his/her first Chrismtas this year, or if this is your first Christmas as a married person (Dolly), this is a great idea. Take about 1-2 cups of needles from the tree and save them. Get a nice Christmas piece of Fabric and make a sachet/pillow to commemorate this first Christmas. If you don't sew, get a friend to make it for you. I made one for our first Christmas as the Roy Grahams and I made one for Caroline's first Christmas and I'll be doing it this year for Roy Austin. My great-grandmother made one for my grandfather's first Christmas back in the 20's and my mom says that it still smells like a Christmas tree. Anyway, it's a cute and sentimental memory. I'll try to take a picture of mine and post it this afternoon.

Love your ornament tip; I'm definitely going to give that a try, even though I don't sew, it sounds like something I could possibly do! Good luck getting a good seat!
Did you get your Buble tickets??????? :) He is SO good and that will be a hot date for you and Roy!
Yes! They are bought. Actually we decided to make it a TRUE hot date and we are going to go with Dolly and Leland in Charlottesville, VA and then go stay in the hotel and same room that we spent our first night of marriage! Woohoo! I think Roy's excited about this date, too!!
