Roy and I celebrated our 6th year of marriage on Saturday! I still can't believe we've been married 6 years. We've had lots of fun, accomplished lots of maturing, made many memories, and we're just getting started! We usually go on a little trip each year to celebrate, but since I'm on my 9th month of pregnancy, we figured we'd wait until the Spring. Roy took me to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse for dinner, where I placed the best steak I've ever had into my mouth. I wanted to take my time eating that filet because it was that good---I wanted to savor each and every second! We had fun reminiscing about our wedding day and our first 6 years of marriage. We laughed about our memories and just had a good time talking with each other. We made two rules in the car on the way to the restaurant....no conversations involving Caroline or Roy's work!
I was looking forward to something really bad and chocolatey for dessert, but our waiter brought us a creme brulee on the house. It was free and actually very tasty and I figured I probably didn't need the chocolate anyway. We had time to spare after dinner, so we went to Starbucks and Roy got me my favorite seasonal drink there-- a Pumpkin Spice Latte. That always puts a smile on this face:)
Roy was very sweet and brought me six red roses in a vase he purchased for me. He also bought me some pretty knot earrings. I didn't get him anything! I know. I'm a bad wife, but I didn't think we were doing gifts for our anniversary.
He is such a wonderful man and I am truly honored to be his partner in life. I have enjoyed every minute of our dating life, engagement and marriage. He is a great leader and a wonderful Daddy. I am really looking forward to seeing him with his son and namesake in a month!
So Happy Anniversary to us and here's to many, many more years together...
