Five years ago, we heard a husky cry come from the little boy pulled from my belly and our life changed forever! I had an idea how this boy was going to be...how he'd act, what his personality would be. This boy turned out to be 100% opposite of what I thought. He is everything I didn't know to hope for:)

This picture pretty much sums up Roy Austin's personality. At his parent/teacher conference last year, his teachers told me that Roy Austin is always happy. He's knows how to have a good time and he's a friendly guy. He seriously makes a friend everywhere we go, whether it's Chick-fil-a, REI, a doctor's waiting room, the park....everywhere we go, we leave with kids saying, "Bye, Roy Austin!" |

This is probably a good trait to have because currently, he wants to be famous when he grows up. In the past two months, he has discovered the word "famous" and he has decided that this is his destiny. He told us recently at the dinner table that he will be famous one day. We asked what he'd do to be famous and he said he didn't know, but he would be. We have to remind him often that he is not famous and he will counteract this by saying, "But when I put my Ninja Turtle costume on, I am". |

I can't say enough about my sweet boy. He loves the Berenstain Bears, Legos, writing letters, holding on to receipts, his growing collection of stuffed animals, collecting random items and carrying them around the house in a cardboard box, Spiderman and Ninja Turtles. He adores his sisters, loves swinging on the swingset and singing. Oh, can he sing and I love to listen to him when he does. He is so sincere and the way his voice projects makes my heart melt. Currently, his favorite song is "I Will Follow You" by Chris Tomlin. He will sing this loudly on the swingset, so sincerely:) I can only hope and pray that his life carries out what that song says! |

I often joke that I feel that he should be 8 years old because of the hard toddler years he put us (ME) through, but he has truly been such a blessing to our family. He has given us adventure, lots of laughter and so many funny memories. He is "all boy" and I would not have it any other way. It's true what they say about moms and sons....he loves me so much and is so protective of me. As an infant, I remember telling him that I couldn't believe that I got to be his Mommy. That still rings true. Thank you, Lord, for our RoyBoy. Happy 5th Birthday! |

I loved reading about Roy Austin and all his current likes and interests. And I can't believe his toddler years are over. What a sweet, fun little boy and I know he'll do great things with his life whether or not he's famous or not. I know this, that he's a big deal in our house. Michael sure loves his cousin and buddy!
