I'm normally not big on fund-raisers. I remember as a child my parents would always buy what we "had" to sell for our school, but they never let us sell to neighbors, friends or even family. So basically, my sisters and I never won the prize for "highest seller". I guess Roy and I adopted this philosophy (minus the selling to
familly!) in raising our children. However, today was the "Fun Run" at
Caroline's school and this was one fund-raiser that was so neat to watch from beginning to end. For about two weeks, Boosterthon ran this event and they did such a good job getting the kids excited for this big finale to the fund-raiser. Each day, Caroline would come home with a prize, some special day that her class won, and funny stories for the big preparation.
So this morning, after we dropped her off. We waited with the other parents for the big race. Here is her class all lined up and ready to run through the Tunnel:

First they did some jumping jacks:

And then they ran through the tunnel. Let me add here that the music that was played during this event was perfect! Every song fit the theme perfectly. It was hilarious:

Today was
PJ day for Roy Austin's preschool class, so Woody joined us (in his
Spiderman sunglasses):

Caroline cracked us up on the first few laps. She would run right by us, knowing that we were going to yell and scream for her, so she would act like she was soooo tired and worn out. Her faces were hilarious. Here is one of the faces I got while she zoomed past me:

Don't smile, Caroline. She tried so hard to look exhausted, but I could tell she was trying not to smile:

After a few laps, she got serious and when she'd come around our way, it was only smiles and a determined look:

Charlotte loved watching the big kids run by. We parked her stroller right up front and she sat there for literally an hour, not making a peep:

We love that Charlotte Girl:

And it's hard to believe in two years, Roy Boy will be out there running with his Kindergarten class and we'll be cheering him on!

Still running.....

She made it!! 35 laps=
2 Miles!! Roy and I were so impressed with her. I saw her walk only for a few seconds. When she ended, she was red faced, a little sweaty and very smiley:)

And we were very proud!

Wooowhoo! Love that Fun Run! I'm so glad that Caroline had her first Fun Run experience. Our Fun Run is next week. M, D, H, and M are all running it this year. Yippeee--we get to support 4 kiddos!!!!!
BTW, I see Reber in some of those pictures of Caroline. Oh also, Jeff Murphy's brother is the owner/developer of the Fun Run. He started it! Cool huh?
