The other day, Caroline came home singing a song that her class is learning in music. It was a song that I performed in a church musical when I was little and it was done by Sandy Patti. Does anyone remember the "Friendship Company"????!!! I think her class is singing it for kindergarten graduation, so we went to itunes to find it so we could download it to our ipod. When I typed in "Sandy Patti", tons of songs came up including "Masterpiece"--the song playing. I remembered hearing this ALLLLLL the time on our local Christian station when I was growing up. It never really meant anything to me, but now that I'm a mommy, whoa! When I clicked on it to play, I got a huge, old lump in my throat and before I knew it, I had hit the "buy it" button.
I love to listen to this song and sing it to my kids now--Caroline's even started to sing it. It brings tears to my eyes each time I hear it and the words are so sweet. And to make it even more sweet, look what I found while cleaning this weekend:

Oh, and call me crazy, but I LOVE Sandy Patti!

Sweet Donna! Funny how those old songs come up and every now and then and make us cry.
Love that little Roy Boy. He makes me smile!
I love this post! I remember listening to the "friendship company" and Loved plugging my ear phones into my jam box with my cassette tape. The song on your blog brings back some sweet memories too. Love the words. We had a good momma...buying us sweet music like that to listen to.
We love Friendship Company!! I burned a cd for Sara off of my old cassette tape and she listens to it over and over (and over and over) again. "Masterpiece" might be my favorite song on that album. :)
Love this post. I went to click the like button and then realized I couldn't as it wasn't facebook. What a delight to see you and your children in Matthews the other day.
