"Midnight" is Out

This morning on the way to school, I told the kids that if they were good today, they could skip quiet/nap time and we would get their bedroom Christmas trees out to start decorating. They were so excited and promised to be good. Roy Austin started saying that he wanted to get "midnight" out. I thought maybe he was mispronouncing something so I kind of ignored him, but he was persistent. "Can we get midnight out to play?" I finally asked Caroline what he was saying, and she confirmed that, yes, he was saying midnight, but then she said something that made my heart smile...."You know, Mommy. Si-midnight." Yes, Roy Austin thinks the song is titled "Si--midnight" and he has incorporated that sweet song (Silent Night) with Baby Jesus and the Nativity! Bless his little heart! I smiled and told him that we would definitely get it out today...and we did. We now refer to it as, Midnight:)

That is definitely sweet....as well as laughable. You need to put that in your laugh jar so you don't forget it. Reminds me of the little kindergarten boy who drew a picture of the nativity with a big fat man in the stable. When the teacher asked who that was, he told her it was "round John virgin"!

I love that little boy. I also love it when a child is so persistent with saying something and when you finally figure out what they are saying, it's something sweet like that.
Side note...I need you to come decorate my mantles for me. :( Me scared!

That is sweet Donna. We have our Midnight out too. And, I am with Dolly on the decorating. I am so intimidated to decorate. I feel like throwing in the towel already!

Round John Virgin--FUNNY!
