She Did It...Again!

At the end of the season last summer, Caroline worked so hard to earn her yellow necklace at the YMCA. This allowed her to swim in the "almost deep end" without a parent. She was SO proud....

This summer, she was working hard to earn her green necklace. This allows you to swim anywhere you want AND go down the big water slides. Tonight was a beautiful night in Charlotte, NC, so we decided to hit the Y after dinner. We encouraged her to try to pass the test and she did it! She had to swim the length of the pool, tread water for 60 seconds and then float from her stomach to her back. When the life guard told her she passed, her smile was priceless. And let's just say that our green necklace girl was giddy tonight. Can you tell??

So glad to be the first to comment on this milestone event in Caroline's summer. We're soooo proud of her.....please tell her that. She looks really proud of herself, too, and it's wonderful to know that she can swim well, and take care of herself in the water. So glad you're giving those kiddos swimming lessons.

I wish I could have been there to see the big smile on her face. So cute donna! I remember passing my swimming test at camp one summer and feeling like I really accomplished something. She'll probably never forget that. Good job Caroline!

I am so happy for her! I remember well the huge grin Chad had when he received his Y necklace for passing that test for the deep end swimming! He was so proud too. It is a great feeling watching every accomplishment our children make!
