Little Household Annoyances

I never buy gum. I guess I take after my Mom---chomping and smacking of gum drives her crazy and it does the same for me, too. But, yesterday I had to attend a meeting and wanted to make sure I had minty-fresh breath so I bought a pack. Roy Boy noticed it in the car this morning. When we pulled into the school parking lot and he got out of his seat, he ran to the front of the car. I was getting Charlotte out of her seat and he was hurrying as fast as he could, getting a piece out of the box, unwrapping it as quickly as possible and stuffing it into his tiny mouth---chewing like crazy before I could reach him. The whole situation was so funny, it was hard not to laugh. So, I let him chew it with the promise that he would ask me if he ever wanted a piece of gum. By the way, this is my sweet gum chewin' Big Bro/cowboy today:

He dressed himself. He loves this shirt and the boots!

He did really well keeping the gum in his mouth all morning. Until right before lunch time. He was playing in the playroom and I noticed a nice piece of blue gum sitting in the TV cabinet. I went back later to take a picture and it was gone. Hmmm. I've searched all over for gum in the carpet, curtains, hiding in a bed, etc. He says he ate it. I guess we'll find out tomorrow.

So this got me thinking of other annoyances around my house. This first one is a MAJOR pet peeve of mine. Unfortunately, it's carried out mainly by the main man of our house:

Come on! Go the extra step and just insert the roll onto the bar!

And this next annoyance is by my other sweet RoyBoy. For some reason, he is certain that a shower curtain is a towel. I have told him and told him, but nope. He still believes that the curtain is hanging there for him to wipe his face and hands. Here is his shower curtain. It's a little hard to see, but there are some dirty marks from his "Clean" hands, and some toothpaste marks from a nicely brushed mouth being wiped on it:

And his sister's pretty, white shower curtain with another mouth-sized mark of bubble gum flavored tooth-paste. I know he did this because I watched him do it:

Total change of subject, but if you are a woman and are looking for a great book to read, read this:

My Bible study has been reading this book this past semester and we are just about finished. It is SO good! She hits the nail on the head throughout the entire book. I have learned a lot about myself and my insecurities and I do not want to pass them down to my two girls. Women are really complex human beings!!

Laughing at the shower curtain thing! Who'd of thought of that? And the gum! He is so cute! I can just see him rushing to get that gum in his mouth as fast as he could!

I can picture him rushing to get gum as fast as he can too. Funny! The annoying thing about the shower curtains is that you have to take each little hook down to wash it and then put it back up. Worse than changing a baby sheet in a crib!
Laughing about big Roy not changing the tp. That's one of my pet peeves!

Laughing about the toilet paper roll, and how my husband can't seem to change it no matter how many times I have showed him, that it is really easy to do. You can do it sitting or standing, its really cool! It is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. Okay I feel better.....
