Chaw-uhl-stun

I'm laughing right now at my post title. I wanted it to sound like a good 'ol Southern Belle's version of "Charleston". Did it work?

Last weekend, I joined my mother-in-law and my three sisters-in-law on our first ever Graham Girls Weekend in Charleston, SC. I LOVE this city...the history, beauty, food....it's wonderful! We went to celebrate Jane's 60th birthday and we had a fun time together just doing whatever we wanted. I brought along Miss Charlotte because #1. She's just too little to leave and #2. She has a strong dislike for bottles. She was an absolute angel:) But I left my camera in the room for about half of our stay, so my pictures are slim pickins'. I stole a few from Cissie's Facebook page:)

My in-laws. One certain girl (hint: wearing black stripes) likes to tease me that I need to get with the times and own an iphone. Apparently my 5 year old Razor is not 2011 enough. I only answer my cell 40% of the time so I like to tease back that I am not a slave to my cell. Case in point: Check out these four slaves with their gadgets:

That photo was semi-posed. I looked up at one point and saw three of them doing this!

Here I am with my nice Razor talking to Roy and getting an update on things at home. Yes, that is a Hooter Hider around my neck and yes, I did feed sweet Charlotte in the restaurant. I never thought I'd be one of "those" ladies:

Here we are at the Battery. We had fun looking at all the beautiful homes:

A visit to Charleston must include a walk through the old slave market. I bought a cookbook from the Charleston Junior League Club. Can't wait to try it out!

This little piggy went to market:

I didn't make that up. A man stopped us and told us that as we were walking down Market Street:)

Perhaps the best part of the trip was dinner on Saturday night at High Cotton. This is Roy's and my favorite restaurant in Charleston. We discovered it on our first anniversary and we visit it each time we return. We had the best waitress ever---so sweet and friendly.

Charlotte was a hit in this restaurant, too! Our waitress even took her and carried her around while we ate our dessert! As she walked into the main part of the restaurant I heard her say to some people, "this is Charlotte!". It was funny:

Oh, and a bit of trivia, The Notebook was filmed in this restaurant! Just another reason to love Hight Cotton.

It was a very relaxing 2 days. Pedicures, walking, eating, shopping....we really enjoyed ourselves and decided that we will make a girls weekend an annual thing!

Funny title Donna--only you!

It looks like you all had a fun time! Just relaxing without 2 of your 3 is a vaca in itself!

Love Miss Queenie and love that prego belly. Sweetness indeed!

Did it annoy you when that waitress walked around with Miss Queenie?

And didn't know that The Notebook was filmed in that place. Me likie!

Looks like a fun weekend! It was nice that you girls could al get away and be together. Charlotte is a sweetie for sure and I'm glad she was so good for you. BTW, I just realized I have your hooter hider that I think you asked me for once before but have forgotten to give it to you. BAD ME!!! I hope you didn't have to go out and buy another one. I feel like a loser now.
What part in the Notebook was that restaurant? I can't remember.

The part when he sees her walking down the street in Charleston and he gets off the bus and sees her eating lunch with her new man.

Looks like y'all had a really great time! And I love the way you spelled the title. Charleston is one of my favorite places. There is a great brunch place, Three Little Birds cafe that you need to try next time. Ah pedicures, shopping, and eating with fun girls......sounds fabulous!
