Just the Four of Us!

This past weekend has been our last as a family of four! It's been a gorgeous one with great Fall time weather and it's really put us in the mood for having a baby:) We started our celebration off on Thursday night by taking the kids to a Japanese steakhouse. The kids were so excited to go when we told them that there would be fire and that we'd sit at a big stove. Roy Boy LOVED it, but Caroline was a little nervous (especially when the fire flared out over the stove!!):

Friday morning was my last morning with just the Budster. I've really enjoyed my M, W, F's with him. He's been so sweet and we've had a good time together. So, I took him to one of his favorite hangouts--the train table at Barnes and Noble. He played with the trains for almost an hour, while I had a little drink and read up on my People magazine news:

Saturday was a beautiful day. We stayed close to home and worked outside and ran errands. Roy called me upstairs in the morning to see what RoyBoy was doing. He had dragged the baby's bouncy seat into our room and was doing this:

One of his new favorite past times is to play "Baby Buddy". He'll say "wah, wahhh" and we have to wrap him in a blanket and call him "baby" and totally baby him. This all stops when we say "okay, baby Buddy. Time to go night-night". He suddenly becomes a big boy. Once Caroline saw him do this and saw me get the camera, we suddenly had another big baby:

On Sunday after church, we had a quick little photo shoot to remember my belly and what it was like with just two children:

RoyBoy and his Poopie Baby:

Caroline posed herself in this picture and was very proud of it. By the way, she is SOOO excited about this baby coming!!!:

Don't laugh at my swollen legs in this one. I can't wait for my legs, ankles and hands to be normal again:

So, there is fresh pine straw laid in the yard, the house is clean, all the laundry and ironing is caught up, my suitcase is just about packed, and any time now, the doorbell should ring and our family's very own "Nanny McPhee" will be here!! That is what my family lovingly calls our sister, Dawn. She is such a good help. More family will arrive this week as we welcome our sweet, little blessing. We are so excited about meeting him/her and we're ready for us to be a family of FIVE!!

I'm so glad you had such a nice, memorable weekend with your family before the new little one arrives. Caroline and Roy are so sweet....it's hard to believe that you'll have another little bundle in just a couple days. I can't wait. Enjoy the rest of your time before she (I say it's a girl) gets here. There will be much to do very soon. See you tomorrow. ILY

Ah Donna! What a sweet post and so much to comment on. First, you look GREAT! I don't think your legs look swollen. You've done so good in this pregnancy. I'm counting down until Tues! I cannot wait to see what this little baby is and see that head full of dark hair that all your babies have. I'm so happy for you. You are such a wonderful mommy and this new little one doesn't even know how good they'll have it.
Dawn is the best! I know she's looking forward to coming down and getting a break from work (different kind of work that is). Love you and see you soon!

What a great weekend that you will always remember! You look beautiful and your legs do not look swollen at all. LOL at RA kissing poopie baby! And Caroline is so cute and so pretty...such a little lady!

I'm surprised that going to the Japanese steakhouse didn't put you in labor. Whenever I go there I feel like I'm in labor and I'm not even pregnant! Oh, and is that Kanye West behind you? Don't you always love the interesting people you get to sit next to in those places?

AWWWW, I always got emotional on those "last time" moments before the birth of each of my children. I have been thinking about you and can't wait to hear the good news and see a picture of your little papoose.
