Rockin' the River

My brother-in-law, Wil, just sent me this video from Edmenton, Canada. Roy and my Dad are there right now for BGEA's Rock the River. Click on the link to read more about it, but basically it's like a mini-crusade that brings in the youth with modern Christian rock bands. So, here are two men who would never be at a rock concert. I seriously LAUGHED OUT LOUD when I saw them--especially my sweet Daddy Boy! They are watching Skillet (I never heard of them either!):

I LOL BIG TIME when I saw this video clip. Daddy face says it all. So funny! He's probably snapping and doing that one dance move he always does. Funny, I've never heard of Skillet either. We need to get with it.

I just watched it again and daddy's face is saying, "what ever happened to the good old songs that Bill Gaither sings or John Starns?"

HPS, remember when we got our Tree 63 t-shirts in Halifax? we thought we were big stuff. What's that song we would sing when we wore it and we would shake? hahah Oh, it was "blessed be the name of the Lord, blessed be the name." I'm LOL! what ever happened to them anyway? Do they still sing for festivals?

Skillet is one of the LOUDEST bands of all!! {I only know of them because i have a teenager!} NOT my cup of tea..I'll stick with you Tree63 fans!

Shae saw Family Force 5 tonight, Hannah! She said the block party was a blast!

And, Donna, while we were in Lburg we had dinner with Roy's old RA from his dorm! hahahahaha (He is married to a girl I babysat when we lived in Dallas!) So funny! Good thing you came along to help him obey the rules... Aaron said he was "a challenge"!!

This is so funny/sweet! Daddy is so cute!

Skillet came to Liberty a few months ago. I think the came with Toby Mac. Anyway, we wanted to go see Toby Mac, but when we pulled up Skillet on the internet to see who they were, we couldn't understand ANY of the words they were saying to their songs. It was just loud noise with screaming. So we opted not to go to the concert.

I have never heard of skillet or force 5? I just know the good old boys....Casting Crowns, ect. So funny all the new bands that come around:)

Inger, yes, I'm sure Roy was a handful to many at LU. I had to tame him slightly. But I wouldn't trade him for the world:)

Don't let your daddy fool ya. When no one was looking he had a wife-beater under his jacket and a doo-rag to put on his head and started breaking out the moves.

OK, I feel old. I have never heard of anyone you mentioned except TobyMac. I was roommates with Kerri McKeehan, Toby's sister, and knew all those guys except Kevin. I thought to myself, "Christian rap???? Yeah right!!!" I got irritated at all their paraphenalia in our tiny dorm room. So the point of the story is, I have never gotten a backstage pass. HA!

Kristi..Linda Tate was my next door neighbor my freshman year in the dorm! My girla and their friends also think it is cool that I knew...and hung out with Toby! Hahaha

Donna, I had a "challenging boy" myself...guess that is what you get when you date a PK?! Any way I wouldn't trade mine for anything either, but when we were at LU dropping Shae off, He STILL insisted on parking WHERE YOU AREN"T SUPPOSED TO! He had sooooo many parking tickets when we were in school, now they FINE you! Yikes!!

Too fun! I really like Skillet!! They are awesome live. :O) They are also very genuine people and always have been fabulous to work with when we (Young & Assoc) have had them at shows. Plus their drummer is a girl which makes them pretty cool in my book. :O)
