Birthday Wrap Up

We had a nice little family party for Roy tonight. We ate one of his favorite meals and then started the celebration. Caroline, especially, was so excited about our "party":

I made one of his favorite cakes--his mom's chocolate cake. It is very yummy!

Caroline and I were serenading Roy with "Happy Birthday to You"....

....and I couldn't figure out why RoyBoy was so quiet:

BUSTED! I guess playing with matches is more fun than singing "Happy Birthday".

We are carrying on the tradition of telling the birthday person why he/she is loved. Caroline told Roy that she loved him because he tickles her at night and plays with her. Then she said he could hold her blankie for the night because it was his birthday.

Caroline was in charge of passing out the gifts and she and RoyBoy then decided they should help open them.

Check out Maui Jim in his new shades:

It was a relaxing and sweet night. Family birthdays are the best!

Good recap Donna! We celebrated Leland's Papa's 80th tonight too. Looks like ya'll had a real nice night together with your sweet little family. I remember getting so excited about mom or daddy's bday too. It's like you wanted it to be the BEST for them. So sweet!

By the way...I want some of that cake right now. That cake is DELISH! I can almost taste that yummy, fudgy icing. YUM!

What a sweet family you have! Tell Roy "Happy Belated Birthday". I know he felt special and this birthday was extra special considering all he has been through the past month. Has he started back with his square dancing lessons or is he still recovering?

Looks like fun times celebrating! I love how Caroline let him hold her blanket for the rest of the night-too sweet! Happy Bday Roy!

Happy Birthday Roy! Was it three years ago that we were all at Kate's Skate?
