Poor Caroline. She does not enjoy practicing her piano. Actually, she does not enjoy me helping her practice her piano. She thinks that practicing means that she can play any thing on the piano, any way she wants to. Yesterday, I sat with her and had to force her to practice what her teacher said to do. After getting frustrated, I left and Roy took over and......she did it perfectly. Brings back
many memories from my childhood! Roy told her if she played her song 2 times through, he'd take her to the new cupcake shop up the street for a special treat. It was torture for her, but she did it. Oh, how I wish my biggest problem in life was practicing "
Mississippi Hot Dog":
So, Roy took us to SAS Cupcakes. It opened this past weekend and let me say that it is now one of our new favorite special treat places! Charlotte peeps, you have to try it out! They use real vanilla bean in their frosting and they are very, very good!!! The vanilla cupcake is my favorite.

Harry Jack and I are watching this. He said, "Mommy, that was kind of pretty sad. Play it again."
Poor Caroline. Just tell her that next week I need her to take me and Harry,Margaux and Jane back to that cupcake shop!
Poor Caroline...her face at the end broke my heart! I remember my mother having to force me to practice as well. She's really very good, though. :)
DITTO! Poor Caroline! I too remember my mom making me practice piano, yuck!
Claire and I STILL butt heads when she is practicing piano - and this is the start of year 3. Thankfully she is starting to get past the point where I am no longer able to help her! It is so hard to fit it in, too. Good for you, though to hold her to it!
Oh my......I thought she was crying during the practicing...I couldn't tell but then her face at the end.....I hated piano. I hope she loves it. Does she like playing otherwise? Hope so.....she loves music so much!
AP just watched this with me and she said, "Cawoline! She's a good singer." Lol. Bless her heart. I can feel the pain behind those tears but looks like those cupcakes turned her frown upside down in a jiffy! Way to play through the tears, Carol! You deserved your cupcake.
Oh my goodness! That brings back SO many memories for me!!!! "Mississippi Hot Dog", Lol!
Ahhh, the good 'ole Suzuki method way of learning the paino! I think I had that same facial expression after my mom forced me to practice, too.
Poor child!! I remember taking ORGAN lassons while hearing all my friends playing out side!! UGH!!
At least she got a cupcake! Why is it that they always perform for the Daddy's????!!!
I agree...what does it always work for Daddy?! And where was that cupcake shop when we were taking lessons?!
Ah man! I thought she loved piano!!! What happened? I guess practicing always takes the fun out things. It's that discipline part that gets in the way. Poor thing. I'm LOL at Toni's comment. Toni, I forgot you took Suzuki too! Actually, when you started coming to LCA, I told my sisters, that girl that's at our recitals and is in theory class is in my class at school. hhahaha!
Way to work through it Caroline! Her face at the end made me sad a little and laugh a little. Can't wait until she has her first recital; I'm sure it will be too cute.
I'll have to check out the cup cake shop. Yum!
