Today after church, we took some shots of Roy Austin in a special chair. Roy received this chair from his grandparents on his first birthday way back in 1978:

We took a picture of Caroline in it when she turned one back in 2006:

Now it's Roy Austin's turn:

Doesn't he look adorable? This was his cousin, Danny's, little suit. When I picked him up at the nursery this morning, his Sunday School teachers told me they were waiting for him to get up and start preaching to the other children! He definitely looks like a big boy.
And, I am so excited because tomorrow night, Roy and I are going to hear
John Rosemond speak on parenting the strong willed child. He is coming to our church for a mini-seminar. If you've never read his books, you're missing out! I will be there with notebook and pen in hand to take some serious notes. I wouldn't say either of our children are strong willed, but one certain child is definitley sparking a little sassiness lately. Guess who?:

Oh my...First of all, i can't believe how little caroline was. She seems so grown up now. Time just flies by! Second, RA can't get any cuter. I love the new outfit. Have fun at the seminar, but you and Roy are lucky not to have any strong willed children, YET!
I second Cissie's Oh My!!!
Roy is sooooo cute and Miss Caroline. I can't believe how fast time has gone by when I see Big Roy sitting in his chair. That boy loved to rock! Cute children you have. Sometimes Roy Jr. looks just like his daddy and then sometimes he looks like your dad to me.
Love you
He is so cute - and sort of does look like a little preacher in that precious outfit!
Have a great time at the Rosemond seminar. I agree - he's wonderful. Be sure to share what you learn!!
I was a strong willed child and turned out fine!
Awwwww! Roy Boy is so cute. He reminds me of Harry in his smiles and cuteness.
Love the children's clothes. Aren't hand me downs great! Funny--this morning Margaux wore Maddie's little RL dress with the buttons down the front--the one with the flowers on it. Remember which one I am talking about. Anyway, Harry Jack came up to me as we were getting in the truck for church and he said, "Mommy, I don't like Margauxs dress." Then later at church Maddie said, "Mommy, isn't Margaux's dress a little Laura Ingalls'ish?" I guess a dress that is 10 years old is a little dated??????
Awww, I know what dress you're talking about and i think it's cute. When Caroline wore it, I paired it with brown mary janes. I think it's a cute. I guess it is a little Laura Ingalish:)
Such cute, cute pictures. That little Roy Boy is so precious. He does look like a little preacher boy in his little suit. But when I looked at the first few pictures, I also thought of Jack Be Nimble for some reason. Guess I saw a picture along with the nursery rhyme, and ol' Jack was wearing a little suit like that. Anyway, I agree with Cissie and Jane. How can he be a year already.....and Caroline almost 4!!! Time flies. You have beautiful children, Donna. You and Roy....and us Rebers, and Grahams....are truly blessed!
HOW CUTE! And, sentimental. I love the outfit.
Ah, I loved this post and seeing these pictures. RA is TOO CUTE in that little preacher boy outfit. The title of your post made me laugh. And Caroline is getting so big and looks so grown up. I agree, you have adorable kids!
I love those pictures of RA. He is so cute and so photogenic! He really does look like a preacher boy in that adorable outfit!
What a sweet walk down memory lane! That is great that you have a picture of all of them in that same chair. How sweet! RA looked like he was gettin' down to bizness in his power suit. So cute! I always dressed my boys in knee socks until Mike started objecting. I think Preston was 2 1/2 when I stopped. I love them on little boys!
Now, I think Caroline is spitting image of Roy and I used to think RA looked just like a Graham too but I am starting to see some of you in him. I think it is the smile, face shape or something. Am I totally off base?
No, he in that last picture, he looks JUST like my baby pictures. It's actually kind of scary...it's the nose, eye shape and eyebrows. I can see roy in him at different times. he definitely has Roy's mouth and eyeballs.
precious, donna. just precious!
(oh my goodness...do i sound like peg or what?!)
So cute! You have beautiful children!
Happy Birthday to Roy Austin! I was thinking about that the other day and wondering when he would be turning one...I can't believe it's been a year. When I looked at the pics of his birth, it seemed like it COULD NOT be a year ago since that post! He looks absolutley adorable in his little English Boy outfit. And YOU, little Susie homemaker, did a fabulous job on his birthday cake and the whole party-it looked like a lot of good memories were made. Way to go, Donna! You look great in that pic-I like your hair-is it a little shorter?
Donna, the photographs are fabulous...seeing your hubby, Caroline and Roy Austin the same chair.
Enjoy the seminar this evening. I need to read the books. Guess which one of mine is strong willed? The one that attends WEE School. God bless Ms. Lynn and Ms. Angela.
Cute, Cute, Cute! Those pictures must be so special. I'm sure you'll have them framed together in a gorgeous arrangement in no time!
I read John Rosemond in the News and Observer, but I've never heard him in person. I hear he's great. Enjoy! (And feel free to pass along any hints to those of us with strong-willed children that cannot attend!)
Donna, I will have to agree with everyone else...YOU HAVE BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN! :)
That RA cracks me up...those thighs/legs are just screaming to get out of those shorts and socks! Donna, those pictures are so cute and I think you need to get all of them framed or something - beginning with your Roy.
Oh, and I love the pictures of when RA is sucking his thumb and playing with his hair...sweet, sweet.
Donna - I love the picture of Roy Austin sucking his thumb. SO STINKIN CUTE!!!
How was your church speaker??
Love RA's suit! I am for sure seeing some Reber in him!!
