The Mother of all Prom Pictures
Here is yet another great prom picture from yesteryear. The submitter wishes to remain anonymous, but maybe some of you can figure out who she is. She is a good friend of mine and I am very proud of her for losing so much weight and keeping it off!!! When she emailed this picture to me, my mouth honestly dropped because I would never have guessed it was her! She says she was so big at the time that her aunt had to make her this pretty peach number for her Senior prom because they couldn't find a good dress. They even ended up sewing artificial flowers on her sleeves. Nice touch, clever aunt. Her date's name was Scott and he was so cool, he accessorized his tux with a great black and white checkered bow tie and cumberbun (not sure how to spell that one). I am utterly amazed. If you saw this beauty now, you'd never believe it! Go Tiger Dave (is that a good hint for some of you?!).

I just saw your invite and was like way to go Donna! I know that was so much work with all your friends and fam list being so long. I love the prom pic. I must post mine soon!! I think I know this girl, she is a friend of yours from your church? I hate to say a name, for the sake of being wrong. Will you ever reveal the secret identity.
OH MY GOODNESS! I made the cut! Yay! I wasn't sure I was going to make it, but was oh so happy when I got the invite! Thanks for including me. Your stories are very entertaining and I am loving this prom pic contest. :)
I know who this is! And you're right, she has lost lots of weight. She was even beautiful back then too and I love the story about her aunt making her dress. Very sweet! If I'm right about who this is, I used to go to a Bible study at her house before she got married. Am I correct?
YEAHHHH!! It made my day to see that I made the cut! Amy called to see if I got the invite and to my amazement it was there!! Thanks for putting a big 'ole smile on my face! Have a super day at Graham Station!
Okay, whoever this is, I can SIMP-A-THIZ! I too had a heavy stage. I can remember my first dresss up/date occasion. Sweethear banquet my 7th grade year. I wasn't aloud to date, BUT they guy I went with was HARMLESS to say the least! Anyway, I was a biggen and I can remember my mom and older sister and me shopping for a formal dress. MAJOR situation for a big girl like me, right at the age of puberty too. I can still see the faces of my mom and Dayna as I would try on a dress and they would cringe at how I looked at it.
We finally agreed on a "Christian" looking Cinderella dress, with long sleeves. I think it was really cheap too.
Anyway, Miss Peach (I don't know who you are)I am proud of you too. My sister's say you are beautiful!
Dolly, find the pictures and email to Donna. Embarr! It might make Peachie feel better!
Denise, do you have any idea where it could be? I was at mom's yesterday and searched all over for it. Acutally, I never remember seeing pictures of you with SH just the videos. I did however find one of Dayna and Dawn that I'm about to email to Dawn. I really want to find the ones of you and that one in that royal blue puffy dress. You looked pretty in that. I'll keep looking.
Denise, I am laughing at your comments about having a "heavy stage". I will believe it when I see it.
Yes, I also made the cut. I accepted with tears in my eyes. I felt so honored.....so loved.....so accepted. It was almost more than I could take. Us invitees are now "blog bondservants" to Donna. LOLOL
Dolly, maybe in my closet upstairs? I have a big box in the left closet with high school things in it. Did you look in the library? Or maybe in that box of that mom has of pictures? No worries if you can't find it.
I don't know who this is but you should show us a before and after. I would love to see the transformation. Good job, girl in peach dress. Losing weight is SOOOO HARD....
"Peachy"...you know who you are. Send me your wedding pic so I can do the After. Denise, LOL that you called her Peachy! I saw her today and she was laughing at that, too:)
Donna, thanks for the invite. Pretty exciting to be able to keep reading your blog!! Great job on the Prom Pictures. Too funny.
Your friend is beautiful then, so must look fabulous now.
I love the prom/banquet photographs. I wish I could locate mine. I went Sr. Year and it was 1987...oh my! If I find it I will scan and email you. At the time I thought the dress was amazing, but it will get a laugh today!
Love, Caroline
I think peachy looks very purty! I want to see the wedding picture too!
You should show "after" pictures of everyone - could be better or worse for some of us! By the way, do this in all your spare time you have with your two children...aren't you still nursing too? :)
By the way, I have a sick child which is why I'm blogging on a Sunday morning. :(
