We had a wonderful, but fast, time in Florida. Our journey started early on Tuesday morning as we departed Charlotte and arrived in Orlando by 4:00. After checking into a hotel room for the night, our little family spent the evening walking around Downtown Disney and looking at thousands of Disney souvenirs. The next day, we met up with the Logans and Dawn and checked into our house to start our Disney Vaca '08. This is where our story begins, so enjoy the pictorial narrative of our trip--there are a lot of pictures, so sorry. I prefer to call this "The Station and My Life Do Disney with Top Dawg" (if you don't get this, you're not as big of a blog fan as you thought. Once again, this is a l o n g post.....
Inside the Magic Kingdom: Caroline, Harry Jack and Maddie waiting patiently for Denise to come out of the bathroom so we can start our day.
Roy's favorite ride at DW is the Dumbo ride....I'm serious. He has a picture of himself and his dad on it when he was about 5, so this ride means a lot to him. We waited in a 60 minute line for a 1 minute ride. It was worth it, though!
Okay, this was seriously my favorite part of the day. As you know,Caroline's favorite princess is Ariel. There is a place in DW where you can go to meet Ariel in her grotto. We waited, again, in a 45 minute line. Once we entered the cave and saw Ariel, Caroline's eyes got huge! She was so excited. When Roy sat her down on the rock, she got so nervous, she started laughing.
This is so funny! We watched the first parade go by and Caroline was stunned. We saw the princesses on the floats and she was in heaven! Watch as she spots Cinderella....
Harry Jack on Dan the Man's shoulders and Caroline on Roy's shoulders as they watch the parade. Did I mention that DW was extremely crowded? I have NEVER seen it this crowded. Ever!
Our posse taking a little break after some of us rode Space Mountain and the other half rode the old person people mover. Don't we look like a fun bunch?
The Graham family loves danger! We all went into the Haunted Mansion. We're not scared! Bring it on.
Then we went on It's a Small World to have a break from the heat, our feet and so Roy Austin could eat. Hey, that rhymed!
After a quick dinner and a break from our party to go visit different parts of the park, Caroline and I walked through Cinderella's castle. I told my family that Roy and I were surprising them with booked rooms in the castle for all of us to stay that night (you can actually do that). For some reason, they didn't believe us. It would have been nice, though!
Jimney Cricket came on the loud speaker to announce that the light parade would be 10 minutes late starting. We had fast passes to ride the Peter Pan ride and this would now make us run behind schedule. My sisters were ticked....
...I mean T I C K E D!
But this little guy didn't seem to care. He was fast asleep in Neverland, dreaming that he was still on It's a Small World eating his heart out while his Mommy was nervously looking around to see if anyone was peeking.
We saw all of the major Disney characters and the princesses. Here is Minnie doing her classic, sassy pose.
After the parade, the Peter Pan ride, and the cool fireworks display, we started the dreaded trip back to the car. Leaving Disney is sad, but the excursion back to the car---with kids---is TORTURE!!!! Here we have Roy with a sleeping Caroline and Danny with a sleeping Margaux leaving Main Street USA.
Friday was spent in the pool and relaxing. Roy and Danny entertained the kids while Denise, Dawn and I laid by the pool reading magazines and my book, Stori Telling. (My review: interesting, yet sad. Tori Spelling is a product of her childhood. She plays the part of victim and she has absolutely no moral compass in her life. Rise above it, Tor. Rise above it.)
Friday night, we all went to Qdoba's for dinner. Someone was having a rough night. Being seven can be tough. Especially when your dad orders something for you that you don't want. Why does life have to be so hard?! WHY?!
Good thing Danny has an older, wiser 10 year old sister who can talk him through these tough times and give him advice. I know my family is laughing right now. This is a typical scene: Maddie explaining the ropes to her brother, while he listens--slightly annoyed.
Once again, Roy Austin is a content little fella.
After dinner, the Grahams and Top Dawg ventured out to Downtown Disney. It was a nice evening and some souvenirs were bought.
The next morning, we went to Chef Mickey's. We got to see the major Disney characters up close, as they came to our table for photo ops.
Chef Mickey's is a great place. They have a delicious breakfast buffet with everything a little heart could ask for. Including candy. I guess the big guy is happier now. This time he got to choose his meal, which consisted of your typical breakfast items and a plate of gummy bears.
As you can see, Caroline had a wonderful time. We left Chef Mickey's at 8:30 and headed on home. Roy said we'll do Disney again in September 2009. I'm so glad he's thinking in the right direction! Next time we are going to spend 3 days at DW, though. It's too much to see and do in one day.
Then this afternoon, we dedicated sweet Roy Austin to our Lord. Our church does a wonderful baby dedication every six months. It's a separate program from the morning service, that way more time can be spent on the babies and families. 2007 must have been a busy year because they had 32 babies being dedicated! It was such a sweet service and a special time.
Our adopted grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Capin--or, as Caroline calls them, Grandma and Grandpa Poopin--came to support us.
Our family on a special day.

And a big, SUPER DUPER shout out to our brother-in-law COREY LYNCH! This afternoon, he was drafted into the NFL by the Cincinnati Bengals! WOW-WEE! We are so happy for you, Corey. You had a dream and it came true. Let us know when the Bengals play their first game and we are going to try our best to be there. I don't know much about the Bengals, but they are our new favorite NFL team. I hope they play the Panthers next season here in Charlotte. I need to get NFL for Dummies so I can learn about this sport called football. We'll also need to train Caroline to say "Go Bengals!" now instead of "ASU, ASU, GO COREY!"

What a sweet baby dedication too...such proud parents and grandparents. You look beautiful too!
Glad you're back!
Looks like you all had so much fun, I'm glad everyone enjoyed themselves. I laughed so hard at the pics of Dawn "ticked" that I had tears in my eyes, so hilarious! I'm sure she loves that pic! What a great post, glad you had fun and are safely home! Oh, and how exciting about your "b-i-l"
I LOVE NFL football, but have to admit, I am a huge Redskins fan. I don't know much about the Bengals but I will keep my eyes open for him, very exciting!
I love the Disney pics! What a great vacation! RA's dedication looks sweet too. Beautiful family. Those Capin's, they are so precious.
We arrived back home yesterday around 6 pm and Mitchell checked the computer pronto and announced that Corey was drafted!! We were so excited for him. We like the Bengals! Great team. Wonder if he will get along with Chad Johnson?
Wow! What an exciting week for you guys! Seeing your pics makes me want to go back even sooner! Last time we were there I was 5 months pregnant, it was July, and I got 8 kidney stones and landed myself in the hospital for the entire week while my parents toured Disney with my other two children for the first time! Boohoo for me! I'm glad Caroline had such a great time! Those pics of Dawn crack me up! Welcome Home!
Great post! We went to Disney last year and we LOVED it! I highly recommend the Disney Swan hotel. They have TONS of stuff for kids there and free Disney shuttle transportation! Congrats to you bro-in-law! How exciting! Alas, I am a Dolphins fan, though :)
Glad you all are back and had a great time. I know you enjoyed Caroline on this trip. She is at such an exciting age. I love the pictures with Ariel. Remember when Grayson hid under the table at Chef Mickey's? She was so scared to see all the characters. Can't wait to see you all this weekend.
These pictures and your stories make me so excited for when Alex and I can take our little ones down to Disney...what a week full of memories! And how exciting about your brother in law; I'll have to tell Alex-he knows ALL when it comes to sports. It's nice that your church does the dedication ceremony after the service; looks like it was a very special day and week for the Grahams-thanks for sharing!
Yay! You are back! I LOVE your post...those pictures of Caroline on the rock by Ariel are the BEST!!! And she started singing - that is the best, Donna. LOL at the pictures of your sisters when they were ticked. So funny. And that video of Caroline seeing the princesses is priceless.
I loved hearing little Caroline watching the Princess parade and her looks while sitting with Ariel - wow - what memories have been made!!! Great pictures and RA so cute and content! What a busy time and finished up with the baby dedication and then your mom's birthday - normal pace for you! Congrats to Corey - that is great!!!
What a fun post to read Donna. You make the whole Magic Kingdom seem worth it. Dale and I thought we would wait until the kids were at least five... or at least Reese. Maybe we will change that... how did Caroline do in waiting in lines?
You have such a fun family...and it is so cool that you and your sisters get together and do things with each others family.
Oh, and I loved the video of Caroline... you can't beat those moments!
Wow, good post. Makes me wish I was with you...oh, I was!!!!! It was a great vaca! Love your story in pictures! I need to get hoppin on my post but I am so busy. We are trying to do laundry, and get packed up to leave again tomorrow for Virgiiiinnnniaaaaaa! Top Dawg has been a HUGE I mean HUUUUGE help!
Congrats to sweet Jenius on her 39th bday. Wow, we are getting so close in age mom, when did you have me, when you were 4???????
And congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Lynch. Hip Hip Hooray!
Looks like you all had a great time. I love the video with Caroline seeing Cinderella. Priceless! I'm sure you need some relaxation time after all you had going on this past week!
Glad to have you back, it is always nice to get away! Caroline looks so sweet sitting next to Ariel. When we took Madde at age 5, we waited for almost 2 hours to see Ariel, Todd was not a happy camper, but Madde sure was because that is all she wanted to see and do!
Welcome back!! I'm so glad you guys had a great trip. Hopefully things will slow down a little this week for you all.
Love the post. Caroline's pictures are so cute. Larry just got back from Disney with the band and he can't wait to take Andrew. Seeing your post makes me think it would actually be worth all the lines and crowds.
So glad you are back! Darling post. Kids and Disney...nothin' better! Last year we went to Disneyland on Spring Break...it was like 100 degrees and so crowded they finally stopped letting people in! I WILL NEVER go during spring break again!
I loved Caroline's Disney attire ....precious!
Love the Disney pictures! You are right, it is just too much to see in one day! And such a long day that is. Okay the Dumbo ride, why do ALL kids have to ride it, and I think last time Brent and I timed it and I think it was like 34 seconds or something like that. Crazy!
sweet family pictures!
WONDERFUL, GLORIOUS POST!!!! I loved it! Way to go...you made us feel like we were there as well. I thought about you all last week and wondered about the trip so it was good to get an update. It was so good to see pictures of Denise and Dan the Man as well. Denise doesn't post many pics of her.
I loved when Caroline was meeting Arial. How precious! It reminded me of when we took the boys years ago and they met Buzz and Woody. I almost cried watching them get so excited.
I'm glad you had family with you for RA's dedication. How sweet and special is that.
OK, you or Cissie needs to really update us on this whole NFL thing. I didn't realize Corey was a "bad-to-the-bone" football player. How wonderful! I can't defect from my beloved Dallas Cowboys, but I do think that is wonderful.
I bet you are tired from this post but it was a wonderful one.
You're BACK!! You were MISSED ---but just seeing the pictures of Caroline and RA were SO worth it! That video ---wow! You are so techy, Donna---loved seeing Caroline with Ariel ---and RA's baby dedication - precious! And lastly, you're right ---your mom does NOT look 61ish ---she is BEAUTIFUL! And mom of 5 girls?!!? AMAZING! Thanks for sharing with all of us........
Disney, Dedication, Announcement and a BIRTHDAY!!!!! Happy Birthday, Jenius!
I'm glad ya'll had fun. My fav
That is hilarious. ..OH AND frustrated DanDan. Also, major LOL at Denise's mad face. Get mad, Denny, GET MAD!
I thought your announcement was going to be you were PREGO and I was thinking OH MY. I'll admit I skimmed all the way to the bottom first and was disappointed. I heard about Corey yesterday so it didn't even dawn on me that would be the big news.
Oh well. Yes, Congrats, Corey! You even beat Cissie.
WELCOME HOME!!!!! Ya'll looked beautiful yesterday.
Gosh, AP hit backspace and deleted my fav...anyway...I said Carol w/ Ariel. HILARIOUS!
Geez, by the looks of it, I think people have been having Graham Central Station with drawls.
I have not be able to stop laughing at the video, how precious.
Oh and when i first read the title and saw "and big announcement," I was so intrigued, I scrolled all the way to the bottom to read, because I thought you were pregnant. But nope! Corey shoutout instead! Thanks Donna.
What a great week. I wish I had the patience to be able to go down to Disney with a little one...We will wait. I love Roy on Dumbo...It's a different side of him.
I was going to blog about Corey, but you beat me too it. We are so happy for him and can't wait until they play the Eagles (Nov. 16th).
I loved your post!! I felt like I was there at Disney with you guys. I'm glad the kids and adults all had a great time and soaked it all it. Happy Birthday Mrs. Reber and Congrats to your BIL!
So glad you are back! BTW - thanks for the add.
Congrats to your brother-in-law. My youngest sister graduated from App last winter.
thanks for sharing donna! looks like a blast!
i agree with hps, i thought it was gonna be that you were prego!
my favorite picture is the one of (choleric:) maddie talking to dan dan. it's hits way too close to home! (how many times has this choleric sat down to give someone unsolicited advice??!! poor dolly!)
Okay...I couldn't help but LOL at sweet little Caroline. She had a blast and I loved watching her excited faces!!! Loved the post Donna and glad you are home safe and sound!!
This post was SO FUN to read and I admit that I got tears in my eyes when I watched little Caroline get excited at the parade. You could just see the overwhelmed excitement in her scream and face. It made me so happy for her. hahah!
It looks like ya'll had so much fun and we can't wait to join you next year for Disney 2009! Wish we could have been at RA's dedication too. April's been so busy for us. Can't wait to see you this week.
Oh, and Teecy, I think MAddie is Sanguine/flagmatic. I never really thought of her as a Choleric but maybe? I do love that picture of her talking to Dan Dan though. Too funny!
Wow what a fun-filled packed trip! Loved the video of Caroline seeing Cinderella!! Too fun, your mom & I have the same birthday...Happy Birthday Mrs Reber!!
I am SO going make Jeff watch that video of Caroline watching the parade. It'll be a sure thing then. We're going to Disney World! Thanks for the help! You'll have to let me know what rides to hit first and the best places to watch the parades. What did you do for a stroller? Did Caroline walk most of the time?
