Out with the Old....

Since I've become a mom, I have learned many great things about my city of Charlotte, NC. There are many cool things to take children to, a lot of neat parks and museums, but perhaps the BEST thing about having kids in Charlotte are the wonderful consignment sales this city has to offer! It seems that churches and mom groups are always having them and I love to attend! My friend, Elaine, introduced me and some of my friends to this one sale and it is, for lack of a better word, awesome (sorry, Denise). People line up at least an hour before the doors open to attend. You can volunteer at the sale to get a pass to the early sale, which I have done for the past two years. This particular sale is so popular that you have to enter a lottery to be accepted to sell things! So, this year I entered just to see if I'd get picked and I did! Yea, me! So, I sorted through all of our stuff and came up with a huge pile of clothes, books, videos, etc. I'm keeping all of the children's nicer things, but I am selling some items that I'm not attached to or that I think won't be "with the times" IF we decide to try for a triple threat. I've washed, ironed, priced and saftey pinned everything, which was exhausting. Now I'm just waiting for Thursday's drop off and Friday's big sale. So, yeah. Basically I'm selling just to bring home more:) I'll blog about this later. In the mean time, here are my piles of unattached possessions:

Gotta love Craig's List. A lady is coming by any minute to buy the royal blue baby backpack that I listed on there to see if I could sell it before the consignment sale! Yea! Dolly, I still have those wedding gifts you need to give in the left corner of this picture! Send me the cards so I can deliver them!

OK, do you have any smocks that would fit Olivia? You could get FULL PRICE from me versus only half price from a consignment sale. Just a thought!

Don't you love the feeling you have as you clear stuff from your house? You feel purged. Good feeling, good feeling.

good work DOnna. THat's a lot of hard work but I'm sure when you bring home your new goods it will all be worth it. I hope you're not getting rid of anything you'll regret with a third threat one day.

Sorry about those gifts. YIKES! I forgot about them until now. We should be coming to Charlotte soon and I'll make sure and deliver them then. Thanks for storing them for me. :)

Don Don, way to rub salt in the wound....waaaay to rub it in. I'm having to pull out my ole "Who I Am in CHRIST" verse sheet cuz when I ponder on who I am in Matthews United Methodist Church, it makes me wanna slit my wrist...JUST KIDDING...JUST KIDDING. No need for alarm. I've accepted that I'm a reject in their eyes. I promise. Have fun selling away, my pretty. I'm happy for you. I really am. :)

HPS! LOL! For those that don't know, HPS was declined in the lottery to sell things. Sorry, Hannah. She felt really rejected by the Matthews United Methodist Church. But fear not! I gave her my buddy pass to go to the early sale. I know, I know. I'm a good friend:)

Kristi, I'm saving all of my smocks for Miss Margaux Jeanne and as I mentioned in my post, a possible triple threat.

Totally off the subject, but didn't you say you, Dolly and Hannah went to Meredith College? I read this morning that the wife of the Governor of NY (Mr. Prostitution) went there also. It said she was a Baptist from Concord, NC. She obviously chose a different direction than you guys - maybe you need to form a Meredith Support Group for her...just a thought and it sounds like she's going to need it. :)

Jennifer, Hannah and Joy Chafin went to Meridith. Donna and me went to the most exciting University in the world....LIBERTY!!!!

Yeah, she was from Concord, which is about 30 min from Charlotte. Yes, Hannah and a lot of her blog friends are from Meredith.

That's awesome, Donna! Now, what is their criteria for accepting/rejecting? Sorry, HPS!

Oh yes these sales are the best! As a new mom, I've been to the one in Raleigh to find stuff for my little girl. The one in Raleigh is HUGE, a whole whse at the fairgrounds. Found a TON of Lamaze toys, and we all know they are pricey. Lots of the toys and clothes even still had tags!

Thats awesome that you took so much time to clean up the stuff you are selling!! Are you Superwoman?
