Something to make you giggle...

I was looking through some pictures of mine today and I found some funny ones! Denise, don't worry, I'm not going to pull out anything embarrassing, although I did find a cute Senior picture of you. You're wearing that cool blue and white striped sailor skirt/top, you have some nice permed hair, great blue eyeshadow and your caressing a dogwood tree. Classic Senior Picture pose. I can post it if you want. Let me know.

Okay, so here are some pictures. Number one.....drum roll please.....

I have a plantation pose, too! Some of you read that funny e-mail with bad Olan Mills backdrops. I didn't realize I was a victim of "The Plantation". The year was 1983 and I was busy carrying my black patent leather purse and my patent leather shoes over a foot bridge in a SUMMER dress. Way to plan the outfit, Mom, way to plan the outfit.
Next....

This is a classic Reber photo. We always refer to the "rabbit coat picture". This was the year that Mom and Daddy decided to reward their babies with FUR COATS...well, all of their babies except THE baby. I remember sneaking Dolly's coat on once in a while because I wanted one so badly! Mom's coat was the nicest--it was a silver fox. Dayna, or maybe we should call her Snow Princess (check out that hair!), had fox trim on her coat's collar and shoulders because she was the oldest. Dawn's and Denise's were just typical white rabbit, and sweet, little Dolly had a hood on hers. Poor Donna, had to suffer with just your average Sunday coat. I look like an awkward third wheel. Moving right along....

Dolly, I know you're laughing right now. This is me circa 10th grade. Dolly and I had gone to visit Amy and Teecy in Alabama for a few days. The last night of the trip I slept in Amy's bed. Now let me explain something. Remember the perfume CK1? Amy LOVED it...she practically bathed in it. Well, I guess I'm allergic to whatever Calvin put in that stuff because I woke up with a swollen nose, lips and fingers! I remember feeling so ugly! I guess I didn't take into consideration that I was wearing a Hard Rock Cafe Tel Aviv hat and I was serious about it!!

That's all for now. I'll see what else I can find later maybe!

FTP!!! I'm literally CRYING I'm laughing so hard. Seriously Donna, I'm home alone and LOL! This is a hilarious post! My favorite is the last picture for sure. I can still smell that CKOne right now. Didn't we have to go to Denise's wedding shower straight from AL? Still laughing! Post some more!

DITTO FOTF LOLin (Falling on the floor). DAYNA is BEAUTIFULLLLLL in her partial silver fox and she KNOWS it! I can't believe you are a plantation victim...may be a little early to hang out with slaves AND CK ONE...ames, YEAH baby!

I had a similar reaction the day before my hubby rolled into town...remember Suzy and Dolly? Roy was ruthless!

I'm CRYING laughing right now!!! I forgot about that CKOne incident--by the way my step-dad where's that now--how FUNNY. Poor Donna!

Donna, I was just thinking...didn't I take a picture of your hand too because your knuckles were so swollen? You need to find that pic and post it too. I just had Leland read this and he was chuckling the whole time.

HPS, I remember something happening to you to right before Max got in town but you need to remind me. I can't remember the details.

Donna you have been the victim of many things, not just the plantation back drop. These are SOOOO funny. I am lol too. So much so that Danny came into the room to see what the noise was about.

The senior pic's are okay Donna. It's the "gimme your lunch money or I'll sit on you" pic's that are embarr.

Yeah, remind us, I can't remember what happened HPS.
I love the pics. Too funny. I had the white rabbit coat too. I loved that thing.

Hello Donna - I am an official "lurker" now so I had to leave a comment. All of the above comments were funny and full of laughter but I have to say.....My heart is breaking for the one little girl who did not get a fur coat. In fact, I am wiping a tear away now...HOW PITIFUL!!! I have to ask what the reason was that EVERYONE got one but you. I also have my counseling degree and I see pain behind your smile. (Not to bring up old family issues or wounds...if I have, promise me you will make an appointment with Dr. Dan to get this area healed)

Nice post, Donna. I'm really sorry we didn't buy you a fur coat. I really don't know why we didn't except that maybe there just were none in your size. Dolly, what ever happened to yours? The others are all in the cedar closet, but yours is nowhere to be found. I was looking for it the other day so that Maddie could wear it to the Gala. Did we give it to someone? And Donna....I remember that last picture of you with the big lips. I always said that you looked like Julia Roberts in that pic. So everyone....I know you're all laughing hard, but truth be known....you all have some pictures just as bad!!! Lets see some of them! They're all a mom's good memories, no matter how bad they are!

There's the picture...classic!!! Donna, my comment for you about not having a coat is "silly rabbit, coats are for big girls" - okay, that was stupid...but hey, at least I commented at the station!! TD

Don Don, I was thinking and maybe you didn't have a fur coat for that particular picture but didn't you have FOUR whole hand-me-down furs that you could wear to your heart's content...even beyond their glory years?!??!? If you're STILL scarred maybe RA1 can score you one of TaTa's that June Carter Cash gave her. Would that help heal all those deep wounds?!?!

TD---that was gewd! (Good in a close family friend verbage.) Glad to see you at the station, the place where all the bloggin began. Let's hear it for GCS!!! Hip Hip Hooray! Hip Hip Hooray! Thanks don't for getting us all on the blog. It is truly good for the soul. Good therapy for our little homemaker lives!

TD--love the rabbit comment!

HPS---You are funny! You said Ta Ta and I thought you were talking about BOOBS! Then I reread it correctly.

(BTW--I think we are blogging at the same time. Your comment was not there when I started my first comment.)

PS...my blowfish episode. We went to Amelia Island for New Year's and I thought it would be REAL cool to get AS much sun as possible in the January Florida sun b/c no one has sun in Jan...right?!?!? Well, apparently the sun was WAY stronger than I gave it credit for..I got FRIED w/out realizing...went inside and put on my Q10 face moisturizing lotion along w/ some aloe vera. Well, good ole HPS had a reaction, turned into a BLOWFISH/PUFFIN overnight and had to COME TO WORK before hightailing it to the doc to get a steroids shot to reduce the swelling before my future lova rolled into town.

I speak special language. "Thanks don't for getting us all on the blog" actually means, "thanks Donna for getting us all on the blog."

Denise, We ARE blogging at the exact same time. They need IM on blogs. My bad..I reread and TATA does look like "the girls". I meant "TaiTai" or however it's spelled....sweet woman (to God be the Glory!)...

Wooooah! My computer crashes and I go 24 hours w/out a computer--a lifetime in my book--and I come back to 17 comments!!! Girls, I don't know why I didn't get a fur coat. All I can figure is that I wasn't a good girl or Mommy and Daddy didn't trust me with a Rabbit Coat. Mom, I was BIGGER than DOlly, so you could have got me one to fit. Good try. Good try.
No, seriously...I don't hold any bitterness, Kristi. Plus, by the time I was old enough for hand me downs, I realized how out of style they were.

Denise, actually it was TEECY who got us all started on blogs. I never even heard of one until she moved to Taiwan and started one herself. She was telling all of us to start one forever and then last summer, finally we all started catching on. Thanks be to Teecy!

Hannah, LOL at the TaiTai comment. Cissie got the fur coat:)
See the wedding pic of them leaving the reception!

I don't remember the blowfish incident but I DO Remember a very dark/tan Hannah one January. I just thought you were really susceptible (SP?) to tanning. I didn't know you were trying to impress Mr. Scholle!
