Mall Rats

Today Dolly, Maddie, Caroline, RoyBoy and I went to the mega shopping complex in Lynchburg---River Ridge Mall! I am writing this with sarcasm because if you've been there recently you'd understand--the "coolest" store there is the GAP. The funny thing is, the mall was packed and it was slightly difficult to maneuver my double stroller through the aisles and around all the Christmas decorations that have been there since I was a toddler! I took Caroline to ride the train, which was an experience. She and I squeezed into the last of the four cars with two other girls when their dad decided to join us. So, it was the two girls on one side, and the dad and me on the other side with Caroline on my lap. Dolly was waiting on the other side of the track and when the train came into her view, she was laughing so hard because she could see how squished we were inside and how happy I looked. Too bad I had the camera.

Like I said, these Christmas decorations have been around forever. Here we have the singing bears. I can remember when I was little standing where Caroline is and thinking they were so cool.

She thought the same thing. Is there anything cooler than four bears with buck teeth that play instruments and sing Christmas carols?

Okay, well maybe there is something....like this awesome Disney Princess bed with netting! When she saw this display in Sears, her face lit up and she climbed on in. Sorry, Caroline. I don't think you'll be getting this...ever.

Maddie is so over the Princess stage in life. She's moved on to bigger and better things. Like the stores, Claire's and Icing! She literally spent at least 20 minutes in Claire's looking for the perfect thing to buy with her spending money. What did she end up purchasing, you ask? Two keychains for all of those keys she carries--a pink soccer ball and a tiara-clad penguin.

That picture of Maddie makes me laugh. I think that store was Icing? She took forever in there. I'm glad she finally decided on two key chains.

um, dolly, do you remember the dancing bears? dolly and i went there when we were young, but old enough to know we were causing a scene...we requested christian songs like "silent night" and "away in a manger" and they wouldn't sing them. the bears would respond with, "what about jingle bells?" and we would say, "no, we don't like that song, what about 'joy to the world.'" anyway, we made our point!!!!

hahah! I'm laughing! I forgot about that Teecy. We were trying to be good witnesses for Jesus even back then. Good for us! They refused to sing any Christian Christmas songs.

hahah! I was always kind of nervous around them because I didn't realize that people were in the house making the bears talk. I didn't understand how they could ask my name and talk to me?!

oh, the singing bears, one more thing to love about the Burg. Too funny! They haven't changed the set one bit, I wonder if Caroline will be taking HER kids to see them...
