My Kind of Picnic

Yesterday my in-laws, Caroline and I flew a float plane to a beautiful site in the middle of nowhere! It is a cabin this man built and lived in for over thirty years by himself. It was really neat to see and the scenery was amazine. We had a little picnic on the beach and Caroline enjoyed throwing rocks in the lake.

Roy didn't call us yesterday so we assume he can't get a cell signal, but last time I checked, pay phones were still in existance. If I went on a trip and didn't call him, I'd never hear the end of it! I'm sure he's fine, though. He should be here tonight or tomorrow. I'm just glad he's not alone.

I left my camera charger in Charlotte, so I'm taking pictures sparingly. That's what happens when you pack in a hurry:) When Roy gets here, I'll have our other camera!

Never mind...the phone just rang and it's Roy! He has 6-7 hours left of driving and he'll fly into Port Alsworth tommorrow morning. He said he has an interesting story to tell me later about them picking up a hitch-hiker on the Alaska freeway. What?! Can't wait to hear this one.

It was so fun reading your blog this morning. I didn't think you would be able to have computer access but I was pleasantly surprised. Those pictures of Franklin and Caroline are AMAZING and really nice. They remind me of that scene in the movie "The Queen" when the Queen is by herself and sees that big buck. It looks really gorgeous there and I'm glad you were spontaneous enough to pick up and go! Keep blogging!

Donna I love the pictures! I am so happy that you went up there to meet Roy. What a great memory for Caroline.....well picture wise, when she gets older! Ditto Dollys comment about The Queen.

Well, just another hot humid day here in ole North Port. Yippee!!!!!

Finally, I'm figuring out this blog stuff!! I agree with the girls. Those pictures are beautiful...especially the one with Franklin's back to the camera. You should enter it in a contest. I'm sure you can find one! Glad you are having a good time.

I know, the scenery is so pretty here. I had forgotten how pretty everything was. I went on a walk yesterday all by myself and it was so peaceful and quiet with just the mountains around me!
Dayna, I'm glad you finally joined the blogging world! I can't wait to find out what you're having next week!!!!
